Glad to see Tech making some recruiting waves.  Time for Tech to start making something of themselves.

Johnson "retiring" was the best thing that could of happened to Tech.  Nobody wanted to play in that boring offense that dates back to the Civil War.  I 'm curious to see how Jamious Griffin pans out for them.  He has to be the highest rated recruit they've gotten in awhile.

Thanks for confirming, that's what I figured.

The more I think about it, the more I come around to the idea that it might not matter if this guy wants to be the only RB in the class wherever he goes. Like, when kids say that, it sounds some kind of way for some reason. But maybe it shouldn't. Maybe there's nothing wrong at all with saying that and maybe it has no bearing on what kind of player and teammate he is.

I don't think it matters either, I'm leaning towards E's opinion of him waiting on a bigger offer.  If the 1RB in the class thing was true, he shouldn't be still looking at USC as they already have a higher ranked RB committed thats pretty much the same size (MarShawn Lloyd).

That being said I'd love to land Tank.  I went back and looked back at our RB recruiting recently (to 2017) and of our 2 highest rated backs 1 was converted to DB and the other transferred this year.  Makes no sense to me.

Don’t agree. I’ve followed Bo closely the last two years. He is possibly the most underrated player out there. If he hadn’t committed to AU early he would probably be in the best 10 players in the country rating wise. Also I can’t believe for a minute you would compare him with someone who had a serious alcohol problem . I’m sure Bo is not only capable physically but also mentally especially with Pat being his dad and coach.

Pretty sure hes comparing him to Sean White while on the football field.  Personal discipline meaning not try to run over 250lb line backers.  Also I'm headed to get help for my serious alcohol problem since I partied too hard in college on a couple of occasions.

While your concern may be true it's not necessarily so W/ Gus's preference to have 4 QBs on roster at all times. Also Cord is not a transfer. He will just be an older tgrue freshman.

Yes but Cord's adjustment won't be 5 times as bad. Also Cord won't be needed to come in & start as a true frosh barring injuries.

Yeah I completely overlooked the depth aspect in my post.  Thanks E.

He's not a normal transfer. He's got full eligibility left. He could theoretically be a 4-year guy for us.

I keep forgetting that, I guess its because hes not the typical straight out of high school recruit.  Hopefully his recruitment is just adding depth and not an indication of MW/JG.  Maybe if he threw with his right hand like normal people I wouldn't have been down on him. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  6. Is the recruitment of Sandberg not worrisome to anybody else?  To me it indicates the lack of confidence in development of MW/JG.  Back into the never ending cycle of having to plug in a transfer/juco guy at QB because none of the HS recruits pan out.

Also, wasn't it last year we were worried about the 1 year that Stidham took off?  Time it would take adjusting to game speed and getting hit again?  That ended up being true (see Clemson game).  Now we have Sandberg who hasn't played in what 5-6 years?

Cool! Where has he been playing?

I saw him twice at Eddies Attic, but hes gotten a lot bigger since then.  Hes playing December 7th at variety playhouse.  Tickets go on sale the 22nd at 10AM.

Edit: Just to add some more about him.. Sturgill Simpson caught wind of him and produced his record.  He went on tour in Europe with Sturgill.

@Auburn2Eugene yeah, someone earlier mentioned that he has no interest in staying at home. It's a shame really.

Most kids don't want to go to a college thats a mile away from their high school.  They want a new experience.  My mom, aunt and uncle were born and raised in Auburn and all of them chose to go to college elsewhere.  I'd be curious to see the amount of AHS grads that choose to go to Auburn.  I've had 6 cousins graduate from AHS and only 1 went to Auburn.

  9. War Eagle Smoke!  Although not as flashy as a #1 QB commit I feel this one is huge.  Having a big hitting, intimidating safety really sets the tone on the defense.  RBs are scared to get past LOS and WRs are scared to run routes across the middle.  Keanu Neal for the Falcons this year is a good example.

So we can call Hill a heavy lean for AU?  I'm good with that.

Also, can we make a rule that no one mentions Monday again unless he changes his mind and is seriously considering AU again?  It's just too depressing. ?

    (Jk Gwill!?)

I didn't notice that this comment was written before Monday had committed.  Bout gave me a heart attack and I went back and had to re-read the whole Monday thread.
