  1. What a great win today versus the Cubbies!!! Make it the 22nd win in the last at bat! Down to the last strike, Ankiel hits a bases clearing, 3-run triple. Wags comes in and strikes out 2 to win!!!!!! Go Bravos!!! ... They stunk before that though. Dempster had a 4-hitter through 8 when the Cubs closer walked 3 and gave up the triple. Good win.
  2. I like the offensive potential, but would feel a little concerned with Glaus back at 3rd because he just can't move too well. He is having trouble at 1st. One announcer said he looked like a Jenga tower falling in a game vs HOU. I pull for Glaus and for One am glad he is a Brave, but I wish we could pick up a seasoned 3rd baseman that can make the plays then another 1st baseman.
  3. Wow! What would that do to the lineup? How would it shuffle? Is Lee back to his old self this year?
  4. I have tried to find a free one, but due to MLB.com they have pretty much seized up the radios. I think you have to get an MLB application of sorts via iPhone, iPad, or computer.
  5. Why are we making so many fundamental mistakes this series especially? Unreal!
  6. It seems like Brooks goes yard when he has to replace Chip mid game! He has done that a few times. Either way he like has all 5-6(?) homers after the 7th inning, including 2 pinch hit GSs. Who would have thought he would be MR. CLUTCH!?
  7. CONRAD!!!! ..... HOLY COW!!!! GLAUS WENT YARD!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I turned the game off when McCann gave them a Grand Slam off a SINGLE!!! Since Hinske was throwing home, he was no where near the corner of left field when McCann threw it into the corner. That was unbelievable, never saw anything like it. I like McCann, but he has made a lot of throwing errors this year.
  9. that could be a division changing, season changing call for several teams. Terrible, it seems like phila has that dumb luck this year, like the Turds had last football season
  10. Either way, if we dont consistently hit the ball like we used to, it doesnt matter who is pitching. I hope Kris can make it back stronger than ever.
  11. Good for him, but I am more glad he hit it so they won't interrupt the live baseball game (I wont mention the team since this is a yankees thread ) to watch him bat.
  12. I figured the way we have been struggling that Wren will be persuaded to trade. The pitching has not been terrible, just hitting is abyssmal along with poor fielding. Plus this collapse had all the pieces in place: 6 away games where we arent that great against 2 dwellers that always have our number for some reason + 3 more away games coming, and Phillies having a 9 game homestand where they are terrific. They have won their last 11 home games. They now go to Washington. Hopefully we can turn this around in a hitters ballpark like Cincy.
  13. The main problem is the phillies happen to be streaking against mediocre teams. The phillies ended the 1st half on a roll and it appears to have given them momentum for the 2nd half. We are struggling while they are streaking. Hopefully we can rally around Huddy like we have done all year. Lets knock around Livan.
  14. Awesome stuff ... thanks for the update.
  15. Can you do an animation of McElroy digging for gold?!
  16. I got to see them a couple of weeks ago in Bham. Thirsty Thursdays! The coolest thing by far that evening was a guy hitting a foul ball into someone's unattended beer. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen at a baseball game. The crowd went nuts. Enjoy some minor league ball. i'm not that old, but i've always gone to stars games. seen some true ballers there. Jose Canseco. Scott Brosius (sp?), Mark McGwire, Prince Fielder, Corey Hart... list goes on... I lived in Huntsville, AL until my 8th grade year in school. My dad and I used to go to Stars games all the time. I even saw the great Michael Jordan make a diving catch in the outfield with the visiting Barons. Two of my favorite memories came from the same game (I think): When Ozzie Canseco, was demoted back to Huntsville, he was being booed at every at bat for striking out. He hit a homer in the middle innings and was cheered instantly! My favorite memory was going after a foul ball, when the fan that caught it nearby gave it to me for cheering so loud. I was pretty young at that point. Good times. Love Minor league ball.
  17. It was like McCann said to himself, "We have one of the best records at home this year and I want Home-field advantage when the Braves are in the World Series this year!!" Boo-ya! He deserved MVP. He has been passed over the starting position probably 3 times due to votes, but if he had started he would not have hit that double. Go Bravos!! Did he win a car for getting MVP? That is what they have gotten in the past.
  18. If I was Heyward, I would at least start ... even if only going an inning. He deserves it and you never know if that opportunity never comes again ... God forbid!
  19. KK has always pitched his best against superior competition (halladay last year). IF the Braves give him some run support he will do fine.
  20. I know. he has a dark cloud over him this year. He did everything right last game (including his first career double) and still ended up with a ND after the bullpen blew the lead.
  21. The Braves have not been in first this late in the season since their last division crown. Even then, last years win total would normally be good enough to win the division. Plus this team has the desire to come through in clutch. We need to let someone else take Mclouth's spot right now and send him back to the minors. We need production from CF. Staying below the Mendoza line isnt going to cut it.
