  1. I was referring to some of the less popular sports like track and swimming. The Olympics hasn't yet had pros in those individual sports. If they do, then there are no more amateur sports. Without amateur status, there's no more need for the NCAA.
  2. I wonder if anyone has thought about the implications to the sports most important to the Olympics? If these athletes are paid employees, are they still amateurs? Will they still qualify for the Olympics? For those sports that don't carry a hefty pro career payday, the Olympics are the Apex of their sports life. What then?
  3. May God grant you and your family solace in your time of grieving. Let His everlasting love wash over your spirits and give you peace, knowing that your grandmother is resting peacefully in his arms, in heaven. Let your memories of her bring you joy and happiness, replacing your grief of this moment. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen
  4. I would much rather hear a coach speak from the heart and mean what he says than hear a lot of well-practiced coach speak and excuses.
  5. Agree on the 4th down call. There was a reverse angle that clearly showed the ball on the ground. Should have been AU ball.
  6. Saban went 7-6 in his first season at bammer, so I ask, what were you expecting?
  7. Three things were glaring errors in coaching. One, TJ was so hobbled that he gave bammer the chance to stuff the run game even worse than it already had. They could have at least tried Loy or DD. They could have gone back to TJ if they didn't work. Remember, TJ threw two int's and was throwing behind on many of his passes Two, Bigsby should have been coached better in the situation to know that he should have gotten down inside the lines and forced bammer to use their final timeout and run another 40 seconds off the clock before bammer's last, game-tying possession. Three Derrick Mason inexplicably stopped putting pressure on Young, giving him time to pick our secondary apart, all the way to the end zone. He went 98 yards in a minute and a half because he had time in the pocket. This game could have been won in regulation, as bad as the offense was playing in the second half (thanks to keeping a hobbled QB in the game).
  8. You're right. The 4th and 7 play was a prime example. The corner was blitzing and he missed the WR that was left by the corner. He could have easily made the first down. Instead, he tried to force a ball into coverage, and it was late to boot. Some of the hits he's taking are of his own making.
  9. So what I'm seeing you say is Stidham has lost his will to take a hit and run it. I don't believe he even tried to run it last night. Am I wrong?
  10. Per JMR on his "What I think I saw" Post: I am not one to believe “the officials are out to get us”. But LSU, which has had problems with their offensive line this season, obviously made a conscious decision to hold until the officials called it. They never did call it, and the holding was rampant on both pass and run plays from beginning to end. I’ll admit, the no-call on Greedy Williams holding Darius Slayton with both hands in clear view of a huge play, followed by the tacky PI call on Jamel Dean, did make me consider jumping over to the conspiracy side of things.
  11. Absolutely loved watching this one. The obvious weakness in this team is discussed in another post about Carlson, our kick/punt coverage. UGA ran everything out, even kicks that normally would get a kneel-down in the end zone.
  12. I would love to see one of the media at the presser just flat out ask, "Coach, why can't this staff make adjustments during the game, or at least at halftime?" I would love to see the reaction to that.
  13. I was thinking the exact same thing about trying to run the clock instead of trying to put more points up. That might have been OK until LSU scored and closed the gap to 23-14, but after that, it was just plain stupid to try to continue down that path. You don't go into the half with a 9-point lead that just shrunk from 23 points and tell the players that "We're in good shape". Malzahn's logic totally escapes me sometimes.
  14. Running the ball? The second half had almost no running attack. They threw the ball exclusively on at least three series, with nothing but a pick-six to show for it.
  15. "If this happens, it is a sure sign Gus Malzahn is more likely to make personnel changes than scheme or play-calling changes. This is not a good sign for what should be expected at this level of play and with the talent level currently available to the offensive coaches." This is why I have been so frustrated with Gus' play-calling. He won't adjust to his players strengths and expects them to change what they were recruited for. Why would you recruit a pro-style QB like SW and try to make him something else? Why didn't Gus do something about Garrett instead of leaving a tackle hanging out on an island where he was obviously over-matched. Why not put a tight-end on him and give him something else to worry about? Did we even use a tight-end in this game (other than running plays)?
  16. WAPI 100.5 streams on the internet and they have an android app. You should be able to get them.
  17. Three errors in this game and four or five in the series so far. With all of the players in the Braves organization, is this guy the best they could come up with? Really? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
