His 1st choice was obviously another "Muschamp"...a proven guy outside the Gus tree.

Otherwise, he would have hired Lindsey almost immediately after Lashlee left. No?

Obviously, Gus hired his fall-back guy.

I'm not saying Gus didn't aim high. That's what some of you are mistaken on.

All coaches aim high. Gus doesn't have the clout anymore to get his 1st choice.

Thus, he HAS to rely on fall-back guys.

    THAT'S the point.

    Feel free to call back.

Gus wouldn't have got his 1st choice even if he had clout.

No we need Balance..... Throwing isn't going to win games int he SEC day in and day out.

His offense has been balanced, last year they averaged a few more passes a game than runs, and the year before at Southern Miss it was just the opposite.

Ummm, remember David Marshall? Ya know, the measly 3-Star defensive lineman out of Georgia that was committed to us in the last cycle before flipping to UGA. All he went on to do in his true freshman campaign was record 26 total stops this season, including 2.5 QB sacks, 3.5 TFLs and five QB pressures.

Yeah I remember him playing a bunch of games with everyone; maybe he grew up.

Nothing like taking lessons from an Auburn - All Pro - Hall of Famer - with a few "War Eagles" thrown in. That's awesome !!!!

My brother & I used to work out at Kaz's gym in Auburn when Kevin played for Auburn (he also worked out there); my brother used to give him a hard time because he never did leg exercises, and his legs were small. Well when he made it to the pros I guess he got the last laugh.

Thanks for this educational and thought provoking post. Great, balanced reporting in your observations by hitting on our shortcomings (free throws, rebounding and average defensive play) as well as high points (point guard play, depth and 3 pt. shooting.)

You cannot help but be encouraged by this team and the fact that we are even talking about the tournament at 6-1 and a chance to go 7-1 with an RPI that is on the rise. CBP is doing something very special here and this young roster is fun to watch.
