Yes. It doesn't make sense to me. The only thing I can think of is that it would be bigger news on signing day for him to flip verses flipping beforehand. Let us play a hypothetical. Let us say that on signing day, KJ Bolden(FSU), LJ McCray(Florida), and Amaris Williams(Florida) flip to Auburn. That would be huge news across the CFB. If they just flip beforehand, it is news just not as talked about nationally. People would rave that Freeze is the master of the flip. In my read of the situation, LJ McCray and Amaris Williams seem like they are in(just not publicly). It seems as though they are recruiting KJ Bolden to join. Nonetheless, people are being weird about KJ Bolden more so than the others. On3 and those in the know here are weirdly confident about the two. As if they know but are keeping quiet. Same with Bolden. They all seem to say Bolden is still a possibility when he is giving nothing to back that up publicly.

Nobody outside of the complex can for sure say what Geriner is. What I take for granted is what my eyes see. Harsin wouldn't put him on the field with as bad of a QB situation they had and now Freeze wouldn't. For what it is worth, Carnell wouldn't either when he was in charge.

For as much as I dislike/respect the guy, it wouldn't surprise me in the least. My dislike/respect is because he is no fool and is as dirty as the day is long. So it would make sense in your line of thinking.

Against better teams, he disappeared. Again there were more issues than just him. But there were issue with his play(bad/no reads). All that I mentioned above. He is lacking command and I cannot give him the benefit of doubt to better it. I will need to see it with consistency for my view to change as did with Jason Campbell. Until then his ceiling is a game manager at best. That isn't bad. Trent Dilfer was a Super Bowl like that. As of right now, Thorne isn't consistently hitting the level of game manager in my opinion.

He is in my opinion positioning himself for retirement. I'm not even paying attention and can tell that. Buying a home in Florida and More Mercedes dealerships there as well leads me to believe this. He is also dipping his feet into broadcasting. I might just drive three hours to Auburn and roll Toomers when he does. It will be a large win for Auburn.

It doesn't to me. People tend to fawn over the players they don't have or are not playing. I am susceptible to this. Some top QBs hit the portal. It isn't bad that one wants better QB play as that has been one of the problems for far too many years now. A good bit of my comments are said in a tongue in cheek manner. Almost all gifs posted are an attempt at levity. It is a possibility that Thorne improves. I had written off Jason Campbell before his senior senior season. I was so glad to be wrong. In the case of Auburn and we fans. We haven't seen improved QB play in far too many years. Line, WR, and play calling are all factors in that. I understand that Throne came in late last year and I'm willing to cut him some slack. I am not willing to take for granted he will get better. So I would like for Auburn to have choices.

The reason for anywhere but Auburn was what turned me off. Kids change their minds all the time. I never found out why it happened but I suspect to this day it was nefarious. I was also told by that same Oxford coach who was pissed off about it that Ruben Foster was set to play for Oxford but Auburn High came in with an offer. Thus he went there for high school. It is why I have no doubt that bama got him with money.

But you have to point out some positive outcomes as well. Sammie Coates played at 1A/2A Leroy High School. Played in the NFL. Terrell Zachary was a good WR for Auburn. He came from 1A/2A Wadley High School.

I missed that. Good to read that all in the know have the same thoughts. I'd like for Auburn to keep him on.
