  1. thought we were about to give one up there. Chipper needs some smelling salts. E on that ground ball and didn't even check the runner there.
  2. well, we know for sure, 100%, without a single doubt, that Hinske cannot and will not hit a curve ball. Tight game. Double Ought bottom of the 3rd. Hope Huddy keeps it up!
  3. Glad they are having an off day. That was a short bus ride to NY. Nothing wrong with getting a blow and getting your head right just before a big series. I don't see Saito as a closer. He makes too many pitches in the setup role as it is. He does have good stuff though. I'd like to see KK get some late inning work. See how he adjusts to the pen. I wish we still had Soriana (sp?), minus all the homers.
  4. Who will be the closer next year with Wagner retiring? He's dead set on it.
  5. dang right about keeping it on the phillies. we need them to dig a hole they can't get out of.... glad to see diaz back out there crushing it! remember what I said about if he comes back and gets on a streak. Nate will be put on the road. I don't know what we need though. Omar is an EXCELLENT utility man.
  6. Lowe is the highest paid player on our roster. If Chipper retires, Yunel will be due for a BIG raise. As will Jason Heyward. I'd hate to see Lowe move on. I think he's pitching below his stature at the moment, but lets see how the 2nd half goes. http://www.altiusdirectory.com/Sports/mlb-atlanta-braves-roster.php
  7. Has to be Mclouth. Really, with the way Gregor has stepped in, Matt Diaz, Melky, Heyward, etc, there is really not much room. X2 on it being hard to move him. He hasn't been the same for a few years. Getting rid of Yunel would be about as dumb as trading Prado or Tommy Hanson. Those guys are the future of your ball club. They have groomed Yunel and really took some of the rookieish personna he had early on and made him a true major league caliber player.
  8. I was glad to see them pull it off. I didn't get to watch as much as I had planned to, but caught the last 3 innings. Our bullpen has been clutch the past week. Loving it. I'd feel way better if we went into the break 4 or 5 ahead of 2nd. That will be dang tough on the road. Win series is how you do it. We can start that tonight.
  9. we'll see. for once i have nothing going on and tonight me and the dog can sit and watch the game in peace.
  10. I don't know if we'll take the next 2 from them in Philly. I sure as hellz hope so!
  11. Wish Glaus would have made it, he's been key, especially as of late. Go easy on Heyward. He'll come back around. He's going to be a very special player.
  12. X1000 on Prado starting in the all-star game. Its a shame he isn't outright anyways. Leading the dang NL in hitting in many categories. Just goes to show you its a popularity contest.
  13. I was very impressed with JJ. Didn't expect him to come out as well as he did. He wasn't spotting pitches well at all. He missed the mitt all over the place but the nationals came through in their usual form. Good move sending KK to the bullpen, but I still think they should let Tommy skip a start and rest that arm.
  14. KK has been consistently giving up runs early in games. Pitchers who do that typically don't get as much run support. I STILL think they should let Hanson skip his next start since you've got that extra pitcher coming in. He has looked tired the past 2 games and struggled both times. He's going to be a star for our franchise. Give him a breather. Thanks for posting that link. it said 15 day DL for Heyward. I'm glad Matty is coming back. Hopefully he'll get red hot real quick. Sucks Heyward is going into a cast.
  15. that is 2 in a row for hanson. while i'd hate to see him skip his turn in the rotation, JJ coming back might be a good opportunity to give tommy a break and let him gather himself. he's an EXCELLENT talent, but even young guys can get tired. he's pitched a few day games now in the heat. that'll take it out of you.
  16. He definately has no run support. None. With that being said, he's only won 1 ball game and what is medlen like 5-1 or something like that. There is no decision to make here, unfortunately.
  17. KK looked pretty good tonight. I still don't see pulling medlen out of the rotation. he seems to have settled in nicely as a starter. let KK be your long setup guy.
  18. i did not see it, but I'm glad to see us crack that L streak. ESPN is posting that JJ will probably start Wednesday which is when Medlen is scheduled to start again. Big mistake IMHO
  19. Hanson struggled more than just a bit. He got shelled quite frankly. I don't know how much longer KK will be in the rotation. I know its been discussed and I like KK, but you can't pull a hot Medlen for an 0-9 starter. Cause you know Jair ain't goin to the pen!
  20. that sweep HURT. Mets are right there in it. I just hope the Twins can put it on Pelfrey tonight. He's become the most solid mets starter. It'd be nice to rurn his rotation this time around. Hopefully Medlen at home can break our streak.
  21. ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh oh ohaahaoohhhhhhhhhhhhh OHHAoohhhhhhhhh ohaaa ah ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
  22. I've avoided this thread cause I knew I'd never read 30+ pages to catch up, but its been fun to see the boys playing well again. The phillies tried to get some life back last night. Don't expect them to go easily at all.
