  1. I’m happy with how the roster turned out. But, for those of us willing to remove our O&B glasses it has to be said: this off-season showed that we were not a serious player for top tier transfers. I would like to think more about why. Is it NIL, Bruce’s disposition toward building the roster, or losing our top recruiter? Or something else? And before I get blasted, I too think Denver is a great fit for what Bruce wants to do and will play better than where the experts have him ranked.
  2. Aden is several levels above Tre as an offensive threat. The question is how he defends and handles pressure on the ball.
  3. Any intel here @ellitor? The remaining portal options at center are few and far between and hotly contested…
  4. This article doesn’t touch on another of last year’s Achilles heels: FT shooting. Our post players were abysmal. Johni shot 56% from the line - given his ability to draw contact in the post an increase there could pay dividends. Dylan shot a remarkable 31%. I hope we are working on this preseason.
  5. If we whiff on Lawrence and lose Broome unexpectedly I’m afraid we’d be in for a long season.
  6. Am I the only person that might be more excited about the prospect of Lawrence than Phillips?
  7. Going to Link Academy, new prep school that just produced Julian Phillips and Jordan Walsh. Probably a smart move if he really is a late-bloomer.
  8. I for one will just be satisfied with a bunch of guards that can score the ball. We’ll figure the defense out.
  9. Tyson to Cal. Down to Lawrence. No pressure.
  10. Would be nice for Lawrence to commit soon so I can stop imagining the Lior-CMO camp battle for the starting 3 job. 🥴
  11. None of the 44 guys invited last year were drafted. I think people are really overreacting. AF was invited last year. The only real risk imo is that he decides to go pro outside the NBA, but our NIL may be competitive with that option.
  12. This is the kind of player that could be happy to help our rotation guys get better in practice next season and stick around for four years as a contributor. If he doesn’t pan out he’ll move on. No harm in taking a guy like this imo.
  13. We don’t seem to really be in it for Tyson - looks like Kansas or Cal.
  14. Based on his post-visit comments, this seems like a done deal if we want him.
  15. Love a lefty. Hard to guard. This would mean a switch to more of a three-guard look - but I think that works for Bruce offensively.
  16. Just going to be blunt here: there is absolutely nothing in this kid’s statements or actions to suggest we’re a serious contender on the same level as Duke or Rutgers (or even in the 2nd tier with Indiana, where he also took an official). It’s a huge waste of time to debate whether he’s “a take”. Of course we’d “take” a top 3 player in the class, but there’s zero reason to worry about this at least until he visits.
  17. Chaney and Tyson are very different players. Admittedly I only watched one UAH game, but I don’t think we should plan for Chaney to spend much time at the 3. He’s going to struggle defensively on the wing, he just doesn’t move like a guard laterally. Impressive shot blocker, though - at least at that level. Has a good feel for the game offensively, especially attacking facing the basket. Just my opinion.
  18. Based on the visit yesterday, Chaney Johnson from UAH.
  19. UNC reported to be pursuing Cleveland. This will be a tough pull. Maybe he wants to stay close to Atlanta.
  20. Classic Auburn wishcasting with Flory. Saw multiple people claiming he was in Auburn today. Meanwhile he was actually meeting with Calipari.
  21. In fairness to him, I seem to remember him hurting us pretty badly this season!
  22. This has to be a backup plan. Oquendo can’t shoot.
  23. If yall think we have chuckers now….
