I think we unfortunately all know the answer to this.
So maybe the answer is to fire Gus and hire Kendall and maybe he will keep the D staff.

I agree the offense needs to be built around SW he is the only QB that has shown any ability to throw the football, but it does not seem Gus knows how to coach anything other than a zone read offense.Which is ok but you have to be able to throw some in the SEC or the defenses will shut you down. Also if JF3 is going to play let him run the d*&n ball if he is going to hand the ball off every time you might as well keep SW in the game so you have the threat of a pass.I want Gus to succeed but he has to quit coaching like a high school coach. This ain't high school were the seniors get to play just because they are seniors, play your best players and get the offense going and quit trying to be so cute with the trick plays most of them turn into wasted plays.

Very good pickup here, helps fill a need and getting a kid from MSHS can benefit us in the future. Win-win to me.
I agree we don't seem to get many from that area.I'm so glad we have been getting the Madison Academy players the last few years also. Both these area's could pay off big in the future.More talent there than most think and the kids usually qualify.

Yep. Everybody talks about Tre but I think DW will surprise some people. We made a very smart move hiring T-Will IMO, he's going to be a heck of a coach.
DW did look much improved to me in the spring game and I agree T-Will is going to be a good coach and also a top recruiter. We may start getting some of these top LB'ers to come to AU.

I first met him after he transfered from Texas to UH at a clinic his dad was putting on. He was very impressive. I then met him a couple years ago while at Baylor. He was on point and you can tell that the kids loved being around him. Kid is as bright as they come. He will be a home run hire...if we get him.
In your opinion will he be a better developer of QB 's than we have now?

Malzahn's offensive ranking in 1st down offense from 2007-2015:
2007 Tulsa: 8th
2008 Tulsa: 7th
2009 Auburn: 60th
2010 Auburn: 12th
2011 Auburn: 92nd
2012 Ark State: 21st
2013 Auburn: 11th
2014 Auburn: 41st
2015 Auburn: 101st
Looks as if he usually follows a bad year with a good one.Lets hope that trend continues.

This bothers me about Gus,he doesn't seem to know what direction he wants to go,Maybe he has made up his mind now and is going duel threat. We have Woody Barret coming in next season, Lowell Narcisse after that, and now Joey Gatewood in 2018. QB problem might be answered.
If there's any doubt as to what Gus thinks about the pocket passer vs dual threat debate, that 2016-2017-2018 QB commit list should answer it for good.
Then 2013-2014-2015 should have answered it for good the other way. I think we'll use the guy that gives us the best chance to win. We'll certainly have some of each flavor to choose from.

I wonder if they don't even watch game film or can they not remember Garrett from last season? How they could expect Golson to block him alone is very poor coaching, at least put a tight end or back to help on 3rd and long.
