Yeah I know.  Go against the mob mentality get thrashed.  I guess we will see in 4 years.  Hope he's everything we want a player I've just seen this type of LB struggle in the SEC where they aren't able to free themselves on blocks and rely to much on being able to out speed players and not plugging their gaps or taking themselves out of plays to get free.  Sure he will make some fantastic plays some highlight plays.

Don't worry about the mob. Welcome to the family. It's just like a family with all the in fighting. ha ha

Who gives a rat behind just be happy we got somekind of OL commit for now. God this crap gets old and its only frickin Feb

I am happy, but the constant bashing of JB gets pretty old too. Some people talk out of both sides of their mouth on the issue. First it's Gus fault that JB can't recruit then it's JB's fault then it's all about relationships blah blah  blah. We all would love to sign more 5 star o-linemen and make first round nfl draft picks out of all of them wouldn't we?

    From the kids mouth:

Jernigan informed Gus Malzahn and offensive line coach J.B. Grimes of his decision. Jernigan and Grimes have developed a strong bond over the past year.

“(Grimes) has been the main one recruiting me and I love him,” Jernigan said. “He’s a very down-to-earth person. He’s going to shoot it straight with you and he’s going to tell you the truth. If he says something he means it. That’s what stuck out to me about him. I really like Coach Grimes.”

Now you know we can't have this. You can't be giving JB any credit for recruiting, it just doesn't fit the narrative.

Man that Bama Bump surely looks evident....my goodness

That's why you have to take these stars and rankings with grain of salt. If you only went by that the turds should have won the natty again but they didn't. They can be beat no matter how many 5 stars they have.

With 27 spots available we have enough room to take care of all the needs in the class & have room to bring him in to.

Probably a good while if ever since he was planning to Blue Shirt at UGA. He also can play slot WR or DB & is open to those positions as well.

Do you think we use all 27? And what is a blue shirt? same as a redshirt?

I would pull for him either way, but it would be very impressive of Griffin to stick there. I know the high school sweetheart he married is adequately attractive but he's getting approached by some supermodels.

What? He's married, didn't know that, then there is no way he comes here.

Regarding Grimes, I actually felt the OL did pretty well the last three games against top talent in Georgia and Alabama.  I think with the OL, it takes time to develop properly, which is why most OL freshmen do not start.  I think Hand could not develop at all, just using guys that Grimes developed before him.  I think this rang true this year seeing Hand’s guys he was supposed to develop tanking.  Not saying we keep Grimes, but I think we started to see Grime’s efforts pay off at the end of the season.

I actually agree with you on this post. But what we need is a coach that can develop players like Grimes or even better, but can recruit lights out to go with the coaching. I don't who that coach is, but that's what we need.

Yes the problem is on the coaches but guys not wanting to come here is the issue only on some. The bigger problem on the OL is Gus's talent evaluation. He runs OL recruiting as he does for all O positions. The guys we have were gotten by orders of Gus.

You telling me the o-line coaches don't get to recruit the players they want and Gus decides who we recruit on the o-line? What in the hell does Gus know about the o-line and what we need ? No wonder our o-line looks like crap, let the coaches do their job Gustav.

Many times it looks like he charges right into the chest of the OLineman

Which does not work well against bammer because they will wrap both arms around you and hold the hell out of you. And the announcers will say what a great job of blocking by the tide O-line. Makes me mad as hell.

Btw, let me give you an example of something that is 100% on Gus and has nothing to do with our offensive line. We have a freshman kicker who is 1 for 8 on FG attempts over 50 yards. With one of the top defenses in the country. Just let that sink in. Our coach is not fit for this job.

In no way am I taking up for Gustav but I think he is taking a chance on the long FG's because he knows he can't score TD's.

What the coaching staff cannot do - is make every throw. They can't make Stidham throw the ball away or just take a sack instead of trying to make something from nothing and throw pick after pick that kills all of our momentum. They can't block the guy Horton/Troxell/Tega/Cox/Whitlow misses. They can't catch the damn near perfect deep ball that Stidham throws to Slayton.

But what they can do is coach the players to do those things and if they can not be coached to do these things, then the coaches can sit their butt on the bench until they can do them. It all comes back to coaching no matter how you cut it.

Horton again went after the wrong man

Or went after no man, time and time again. He needs to be on the bench and Brahms needs to be sitting beside him. Maybe sit all the starters and let them watch at least for a couple of series. If we are going to run the ball it looks like we need to bring in two tight ends and an H-back to get any blocking at all.

  13.  I saw a team in moo st that was fired up and ready to play and a team in AU that seemed to have zero fire in their belly to win this game. As poorly as this team played we still had plenty of chances to come out on top even if we didn't deserve to win.The refs absolutely killed us with every review of critical plays.
