We need a Brady Manek type at the 4 - big man that can shoot - to put us over the top.

Could you even imagine the negative recruiting that Oats would be able to do if he balled out at UAT? We would never hear the end of it.

I was one that didn’t want to see Aden transfer. I wanted to see him develop into the stud that Bruce and coaches believed that he would be. If he goes to Alabama and succeeds, then that would definitely be a “slap in the face”.

Point taken. But I’m also referencing the fact that he never had an elite QB at Ole Miss either. It’s a trend he needs to break.

Losing Longstreet to Mike Elko is a tough pill to swallow. Hugh Freeze continues to struggle to land an elite QB. 

Wow! What a HUGE transfer addition. We may be seeing our women’s basketball program starting to turn the corner. Now we just a big WOman and we’re a contender.

Butch Thompson is not the problem! He’s one of the greatest things to ever happen to Auburn baseball. Get rid of him and we’ll go back to where we were before we got him. The pitching coach and NIL are the biggest issues. We desperately need Tim Hudson back.

We also need more people with money ALL IN on this program.

SEC experience as an assistant at Florida. Big-time pitching coach. Well-loved and respected. She would bring an enormous amount of positive energy and credibility to Auburn softball.

This is the best news that I’ve heard in a long time! 

Thank the Lord! Dean was a huge step backwards after Meyers. Let’s pray we get this one right. 

I wish we could’ve seen Samir Doughty get his redemption in the 2020 NCAA tournament, but unfortunately COVID hit. We can only hope that CBM gets his redemption next year. 

I wouldn’t be opposed to hiring Steven Pearl if Bruce and the AD think he’s ready in the next 6-8 years. But he would be on a short leash IMO. If he starts tanking within the first 2 years, then I would look to the following options. 

1. Bucky Ball - if he’s still available. Definitely don’t want to see him at UAT after Oates. 

2. Todd Golden - He’s going to be (and already is) a very good young coach.

3. Will Wade - He’s a winner and an incredible recruiter. All jokes aside, what he did is now legal and the same arguments for him will be made that were used for Hugh Freeze. 

Thanks to KD for all of his contributions to Auburn basketball. But this is the best thing that could happen for both sides. Hopefully we won’t have to play against him in the future.

I did dumb things too when I was young. 

I’m not disagreeing about CBM’s actions. It was an incredibly stupid decision that he made. It wasn’t a basketball play. I fault CBM & Bruce Pearl for letting it get to the point where that crap is STILL happening in a game that will determine if your season ends or not.

With all that said, now it’s time to embrace both of them. I fully expect CBM to grow from this and be a much better player and leader next year.

If we had Mark Sears on this team, we’d be playing for a National Championship two weeks from today. 

And yes, I agree with the title of the thread, Bruce Pearl should’ve shut this attitude down months ago. Quit trash talking and play basketball.

I completely disagree - it’s a flagrant foul, not a flagrant 2. He committed a similar act that the guy did to him on the previous possession that a referee looking right at them did not call. 

Yes, I agree that it was a selfish, stupid play. But to call a guy for a Flagrant 2 when he did not swing at the guy’s head is ridiculous! To eject a player 3 minutes into the first round of the NCAA tournament for elbowing a guy in the chest is ridiculous! 

Their recruiting philosophies are definitely different. Bruce wants to rely on the portal instead of loading up on high school recruits. Freeze wants to load up on high school recruits instead of relying on the portal. I hope they end up blending their philosophies together. Bruce definitely needs to recruit better at the high school level (and then fill in the gaps with transfers) and Freeze needs to land more top end portal guys (at least in his first few years until he gets it built up).

Does anyone have any info on the HUGE recruiting weekend happening on the plains…

It’s about dadgum time!

Analytically it is - my main question for this team is heart and grit. We haven’t won a close game all year, and we will definitely have to win close one(s) in the tournaments. 

What the heck has happened to our recruiting?! And how the frick do we lose Derick Smith to Alabama?
