This completely blows my mind - we were able to convince Broome to come back, we have a team of mostly seniors… this may be the best shot that we’ve had at our first National Championship. And then you can’t even fill out the team because we don’t have the resources…

Hokanson is saying that we’ve spent all our NIL. Are you kidding me?! There’s absolutely no excuse for this! We are a big time program that still refuses to act like one. At a time when Alabama just went to their first Final 4 and supposedly just “passed” our program in basketball, where is the sense of urgency to win our first national championship?! We can’t even fill out a stinkin roster. Bruce should have the resources to go get any player that he wants! This is pathetic.

We had multiple top 10 recruits coming in on that team. Talent was not an issue when Dean took over. He’s just been a disappointment. Time to pony up the cash and get a real coach.

Dear Lord, I hope so! He shot almost 45% from 3 - averaged 16 pts, 6 reb - scored 23 pts, 8 rebs against Kansas in the tournament. Big time want!

Jerry, I completely understand your position. I might even agree with you, but here’s my reservation. If everyone had that same attitude, then how do we ever get better if the athletic department isn’t being supported? I agree that our leadership has made terrible decisions. But choosing not to support the athletic department isn’t holding the leadership accountable, it’s only putting AUBURN further and further behind. The question is how do we hold the leadership accountable and make sure our money is being used wisely? With NIL - I believe Auburn fans have an opportunity - now more than ever before - to directly impact the product in the field. The more money we generate, then the better players we will have and the better chance to win a National Championship in something other than equestrian. I don’t believe it’s possible for them to use NIL money on coaches buyouts or other stupid decisions we’ve made in the past.

Some of us aren’t in a position to donate anything “significant”. But I promise you that if I was… you better believe I would be pouring my money into OTV! And I would expect any hardcore Auburn fan to do the same. And that’s what I don’t understand. Your money goes further now more than ever! We are supposedly funded by 4-5 different billionaires (according to WDE). It’s now LEGAL to pay for players. If we truly have the money, we should be competitive in EVERY sport. There are sports that we’ve never been truly competitive in, but we should have an opportunity to change that now. I don’t expect the NIL “Wild West” to last forever…. But while it’s here, we should be getting the talent we need in EVERY sport.

Never mind - they were both drafted. But… both should’ve came back for one more year.

Can he or Justin Rodgers come back if they don’t get drafted?

We need a Brady Manek type at the 4 - big man that can shoot - to put us over the top.

Could you even imagine the negative recruiting that Oats would be able to do if he balled out at UAT? We would never hear the end of it.

I was one that didn’t want to see Aden transfer. I wanted to see him develop into the stud that Bruce and coaches believed that he would be. If he goes to Alabama and succeeds, then that would definitely be a “slap in the face”.

I hope he turns out to be “elite” but I don’t consider the #8 QB in a class “elite”.

Point taken. But I’m also referencing the fact that he never had an elite QB at Ole Miss either. It’s a trend he needs to break.

Losing Longstreet to Mike Elko is a tough pill to swallow. Hugh Freeze continues to struggle to land an elite QB.

Wow! What a HUGE transfer addition. We may be seeing our women’s basketball program starting to turn the corner. Now we just a big WOman and we’re a contender.

Butch Thompson is not the problem! He’s one of the greatest things to ever happen to Auburn baseball. Get rid of him and we’ll go back to where we were before we got him. The pitching coach and NIL are the biggest issues. We desperately need Tim Hudson back. We also need more people with money ALL IN on this program.

Absolutely baffling - I just wish the stuff that happened at Arkansas would happen at Alabama instead.

Jennifer Rocha - OU Associate Head Coach. SEC experience as an assistant at Florida. Big-time pitching coach. Well-loved and respected. She would bring an enormous amount of positive energy and credibility to Auburn softball.

I wish we could’ve seen Samir Doughty get his redemption in the 2020 NCAA tournament, but unfortunately COVID hit. We can only hope that CBM gets his redemption next year.

I wouldn’t be opposed to hiring Steven Pearl if Bruce and the AD think he’s ready in the next 6-8 years. But he would be on a short leash IMO. If he starts tanking within the first 2 years, then I would look to the following options. 1. Bucky Ball - if he’s still available. Definitely don’t want to see him at UAT after Oates. 2. Todd Golden - He’s going to be (and already is) a very good young coach. 3. Will Wade - He’s a winner and an incredible recruiter. All jokes aside, what he did is now legal and the same arguments for him will be made that were used for Hugh Freeze.

Thanks to KD for all of his contributions to Auburn basketball. But this is the best thing that could happen for both sides. Hopefully we won’t have to play against him in the future.
