I get what you are saying but my point is whether the guy was not at the spot or not, that ball was completely uncatchable. Quite frankly if someone is freaking wide open, you put it in their vicinity whether they are at a spot or not. I can have some empathy if this was a quick pass, but he had time to stare him down and completely threw it out of bounds.

I hear you. It looked awful and that was the play where I actually yelled at the TV. Thorne has many issues and it's very disappointing it's not turning out like we thought. But after Freeze said what he did, unfortunately it means we have a lot of interconnecting problems going on with the offense. In my mind the question is why ? Honestly I don't know which QB should be playing anymore. But it appears the solution to the offensive woes isn't as simple as just changing the QBs.

  2. I wish it was as simple as replacing the QB but it's not in this case. If you listen to Freeze's presser, there is a combination of issues going on between the QB, OL, WRs and play calling. As an example, he said on the wide open WR that Thorne missed on the wheel route, Thorne was actually throwing to a spot but the WR didn't "take off" to get to that spot when he turned up field. Thorne has his issues for sure but unless you fix all these interlocking issues, the problem isn't solved.

Sort of true. QB indecisiveness led to several of those sacks.

I agree that was part of it for sure. But the TAMU DL was owning our OL on pass pro so badly, I'm sure it contributed to some of that indecisiveness. Some of their pass rushes were like a stampede, just insane.

  4. Who should start ? Well you got me.

    We played 3 QBs.

The 3 QBs combined for 9 of 23 passing (39%), 56 yds and 0 TDs.

    14 incompletions occurred.

6 incompletions were thrown well over the heads of wide open WRs by the 3 QBs.

2 other incompletions hit the WR right in the hands.

The QBs were sacked 7 times before they could make the pass attempt.

The OL was well below average in pass protection, at best.

Although the QBs are a major part of the problem it's not just them. There are several issues going on with the QBs, the OL, the WRs and yes, some of the play calling. All the issues have to be corrected in combination to make this thing work.

To be honest, after viewing some of the SEC's crappy offenses so far this year; Auburn may be in the thick of things and could win the West with our defense.

No QB/WR/RB/Oline look too good so far.  There's tons of work to do at AU/LSU/USCe/UF/UAT/Arky/aTm,  even Ole Miss floundered around on offense vs Tulane until the end of that game.

Yes, I was thinking about that last night. We have a tremendous opportunity this year if we can just get this thing going.
