  1. Auburn leading Pensacola State 5-0 after 3 innings. Emmah Rolfe pitching, Widra and Milanowski also started Widra had a double in the first. Rofe with 5 Ks after 3. This from Twitter. No lineup provided.
  2. I'm still concerned about removing that padding. Hope that doesn't result in a player's being injured. Seems better to me to elevate the seats and leave the padding in place.
  3. This would make it more likely we'll see Widra in the circle. Thanks to KK for her contributions.
  4. Actually, we will see neither UT nor UK this year. We will drop both of them, plus Arkansas and aTm. At home we will get Miss. St., Ole Miss, LSU, and Missouri. We will travel to UF, UGA, USC, and Alabama. I know the teams are correct, and believe the sites are.
  5. Slightly surprised by the teams: St. John's, Fordham, Pittsburgh, Indiana, Illinois. We played tougher competition last year. We'll see what the rest of the schedule bings.
  6. Thanks for news about Hutchins. Wonder if the players knew earlier - I think three of her pitchers transferred, including the ace. Agree it will be interesting to see if Widra pitches in the fall. Would be a help if she could take some innings vs. Mercer, Delaware State, etc.
  7. Looks like Phillip totally forgot about Annabelle Widra. Does that mean we don't plan to use her as a pitcher? Not sure I like the sound of removing the padding in left field.
  8. I'm surprised we continue to pick up transfers, also; but Myers had a roster of 30 back in 2015-16.
  9. I'm a little puzzled by this. Is McCrary the same one who self-announced her transfer back in May?
  10. Love them all, but have to acknowledge the job done by Maddie Penta, who pretty much pitched us through the season after it became apparent that Lowe's injury wouldn't allow her to pitch at her former level. Without checking, I think she was credited with 25 of our 40 wins. Her self-control, confidence and resilience were crucial to the success we had. Looking forward to next season, when we'll have a rehabilitated Lowe, Dismukes, Widra, and Rolfe to share the load.
  11. Not much argument. They certainly weren't very good in that tournament, losing all 5 games. Other than that, however, they were 21-4, including an opening game win over Clemson, 2 wins over Louisiana, and a 3-game sweep of LSU. Two of their losses were to Alabama.
  12. I can't judge at this point. Clemson and Northwestern will be challenging, but UCLA/Texas at least equals those two. This year we played Texas Tech, USF, and Wisconsin (not Washington). The RPI of the teams coming to Auburn for those early invitationals needs to be better in 2023.
  13. Former Auburn commit Savanna Sikes, who played for UGA the past couple of years, is transferring to Ole Miss, and will join Jenna Lord there.
  14. This may have been mentioned, but Savanna Sikes from UGA is also transferring to Ole Miss. In bigger news, Haley Lee from aTm has entered the portal. She is their catcher and hit .405 with 15 homers (47 career) this year. Not a good fit for us, but will be interesting to see where she goes.
  15. Just looked back through this thread . . . In April 2020, Jenna Lord(e) was committed. Perhaps this was in error, since Lord played at Alabama this season. In September 2020, Jenna Lorde had morphed into Jenna Nelson at the same ranking spot. Jenna Nelson later signed with Penn State. I only mention this because Jenna Lord entered the portal; don't know if she has found a new team yet.
  16. Apologize for the error. I failed to notice the date on the tweet. Have deleted it. She doesn't really look 6 years older, though.
  17. Also note the roster has been updated with incoming players (except Widra). Lisenby changing her number to 11. We'll have a roster of 23 for '23, barring other changes.
  18. I don't think it's mentioned anywhere, but Widra was the 2021 Gatorade POY in Alabama. this gives us three Alabama POY on the roster, with Lowe and Dismukes.
  19. That's at least the third Auburn player to go to Louisville in the past 3-4 years: Chardonnay Harris, Carmyn Greenwood, now Geraghty. Both the others finished up this year. Greenwood hit .400 with an OPS of 1.292, 14 homers. Harris had the 2d most innings pitched (57), with ERA of 5.25 and 6-6 record.
  20. I don't think the fact that Godwin chose to return says anything at all about Blaine or Lisenby.
  21. I have an affinity for Cox and would be disappointed to see her leave. She hit .310 for the year, with 5 homers, but only .245 in-conference. Neither of our left-side infielders were especially good fielders. Cox had a 90% rating and Peralta committed 19 errors to lead the team. I believe Milanowski plays third, not sure about Roberts and Elkins.
  22. Just for clarification: in 32 innings Widra had 31 strikeouts. The #2 Beaubien had 109Ks in 102 innings, and the ace Storako had 300Ks in 200 innings.
  23. Surely a man of your distinction would recall that on 5/26/59, Harvey Haddix of the Pittsburgh Pirates pitched a perfect game for 12 innings, then lost it as a 1-hitter in the 13th. The game was against the Braves in Milwaukee's County Stadium. The Pirates got 12 hits, but never scored. Here is a link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvey_Haddix's_near-perfect_game
  24. Glad to see us pick up another pitcher. She has some pretty good numbers. In the right class, too.
