  1. I expect Bryson Ware and Brody Moore to fill out the RF/DH spots if that’s the case. Not sure which where. Surprised to see Farquhar over Foster. However, I’m sure there will be a lot of moving pieces this weekend.
  2. Looks like Bull is our Friday night guy! (Unless the plan was for Owen to be). Excited to see how these guys have developed as starters.
  3. Cameron Keshock’s dad was one of my professors at South Alabama. Great family!
  4. Dang, I didn’t know that about Owen. That’s a bummer. At least it happened now and not later. I’d be curious to see how Barnett does in a starting role. I think he can be an elite closer. It could be great for developing depth going into conference play until Owen comes back. I wonder if they’ll throw Seb Thomas or Joseph Gonzalez back there as the closer. And I agree about the offense. I’m super excited about Bryson Ware and Cole Foster. At the same time, we have Moore, Miller, Ceccoli, and Farhquarr that will all be competing for PT. Bliss and Woley are shoe-ins for an IF spot. I’m also curious to see how they plug in Josh Hall, Bobby Pierce, and Brayton Brown in the OF. (We literally could fit 2 very solid lineups with our team.) Our catching situation seems to be the biggest concern, but I think the talent is there. Just gotta get game reps. The batting order will be a fun thing to monitor as well. We have options.
  5. If we don’t sign a full class (25) this year, we’ll be able to carry some over and can sign up to 30 next year.
  6. Looks like a hell of an athlete. But is it just me, or does he look small? What’s his measurables?
  7. Aaron Fitt rated the SEC West Friday starters, and he has Fitts at #2. Frustratingly enough, he has Bama’s freshman starter at #1.
  8. I’m thinking Fitts, Owen, Greenhill. Not that I know anything haha. I’ve just heard some rave reviews about Fitts’s development over the off-season. Either way, I think they’ll end up being our 3 starters from the jump. I’m curious to see how the Bull adapts to being a starter. He came here to be one, so we’ll see! I love Barnett as a closer. That kid is a stud! And we have plenty of options for relief pitchers. I am excited to see how Garrett Wade turns out. His stuff is filthy. If he gets dialed in, he’s a surefire weapon. And then the freshman Carson Swilling is coming in with some pub. Excited to see what he brings. But I agree. I think we have what it takes to make a run back to Omaha. As always, the SEC is loaded with talent.

So I created this thread for anyone wanting to talk baseball and our 2021 Auburn Tigers. For one, the new hitting facility behind RF seems pretty simple, but I like it. 2nd, we need to do something for outfield seating. Nothing like heckling the opposing outfielders. 3rd, I’m feeling really good about this years team. Lineup should be STRONG. Pitching rotation and depth should be solid as well. We have so many options, especially in the infield with Woley and Bliss locking down spots. For the other 2 positions, we’ve got Moore, Miller, Foster, Farquhar, Ware, Ceccoli, and Shenker. At catcher, you’ve got 2 solid options with Larue and Dyal. People were really high on Dyal before he got hurt right before the season last year. At OF, our starters are all back with Howell, Ward, and Williams. Outside of them, you have Hall, Brown, and Pierce. Miller and Moore can also give you innings out there. DH has SO MANY options. The pitching rotation and bullpen could go so many ways. I predict Fitts, Owen, and Greenhill to be our weekend starters with Barnett as our closer. And then we can use Fuller, Gonzalez, Wade, Bright, Glavine, Mullins, Thomas, Skipper, Swilling, and so many more that I’m not too familiar with. (There are other players on the team that may surprise us that I don’t know much about) Anybody have any guesses to a starting rotation and lineup for opening day?
  11. You’re speaking my language. (Baseball reference, for those who don’t know)
  12. To be fair, they do probably recruit the same schools. The schools that have SEC type talent usually have Troy type talent as well.
  13. People won’t be ecstatic about this hire, but I think it will turn out to be a great one!
  14. Yep. If SC isn’t here next year, we’ll have to go find another PG, whether it’s a HS guy or from JUCO/transfer.
  15. Does anyone have an idea who the recruit is that Steele said may sign Friday? Believe it was a DL.
  16. Haha okay okay, maybe Bruce is up there with him. We’ll just put them together at Tier 1. Maybe PJ Fleck/Mario Cristobal/etc. will join them up there soon.
  17. I’ve gotten to meet Huddy before too. Seems like a great and genuine guy. Couldn’t ask for a better pitching coach. Gotta think these high school kids are biting at the chomp to pitch for him and Butch.
  18. I’m in the minority, and I LOVE Bruce, but Butch is my favorite person associated with AU athletics. I’m a baseball guy though, so take that for what it’s worth.
  19. Going back and forth between Bo and Pappoe. Give me Bo.
  20. Not an insider by any means, but I wouldn’t think so. Miller would’ve been gone after this year regardless. And I wouldn’t have been surprised if Boobie would’ve tested the NFL waters after this season if he would’ve stayed. Not sure if the staff wants 1 or 2 RBs this cycle, but I doubt those 2 would’ve impacted this class. Side note: I think this guy could be a stud, but I’d personally prefer AG. Admittedly, I haven’t dove too much into either’s tape. I’m looking at it this way: if we don’t get LJ, we probably don’t ever play against him, but if we don’t get AG, we probably face him for 3-4 years. Probably not the best reasoning, but I would just hate to see AG in crimson or purple and yellow. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll take both all day long if getting LJ doesn’t mean losing AG.
  21. Haha I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to get a good joke in there. Appreciate the work you do for us on here!
