  1. Agree with the advice in regards to parking, the United Methodist church lot works out well. As far as hotels go, there are several "budget"-type hotels back in Alexander City. They're about 35-40 mins away back west on Highway 280, not quite as far as Montgomery (or B'ham for that matter). There's an American Inn (not a chain & slightly cheaper) as well as a Days Inn, Quality Inn, & Super 8 (all seemingly around $99/night) and a Hampton Inn (nicer but more expensive). You might be able to find a good rate through Priceline, Expedia, Trivago, etc. provided there are still rooms available. Another option I saw on Google Maps was a place called Creekside Lodge (click here) which is right on Lake Martin in Dadeville. Only about 25-30 mins to Auburn but unfortunately they have a 2 night minimum stay on Auburn game-day weekends 😠 I was lucky enough to stay at a friend-of-a-friend's cabin on Lake Martin when we went down to see the last game that Harsin coached aka Auburn vs. Arkansas. Wish it was my place, I'd offer it up to you as a fellow Tigers fan. Only about 25 mins from Auburn and the sunrise views there were pretty nice!
  2. Agree. I was at the Arky game last weekend and Carlson put a kickoff out of bounds. Not saying it doesn’t happen to good kickers but it was going to be short of the end zone if it hadn’t gone out. Seems to me like Carlson has lost his mojo.
  3. Defensive squad needs to get in the face of the Offensive Line and challenge them. Tell them we’re doing our job, now you do yours!
  4. The only fix I see is getting rid of EVERY OL we have and starting over with all new players. Cause these guys don’t have a clue, they are unsalvageable.
  5. Why in the absolute holy **** is Carlson in on kickoffs? Could we please put in the Ft. Payne kicker who set (or tied) a HS record for longest FG to make a return impossible?
  6. I texted a few friends earlier that Calzada was good enough to start at Texas A&M so why not play him? He couldn’t be any worse than the Turnover Twins that have been in all game.
  7. Florida: "We're a lock for SEC Laughingstock of the Year!" Auburn:
  8. Hmmm, and here I was excited that they've just broken ground on a Buc-ee's close to Huntsville. It'll be located off of I-65 just south of Athens. My sister - who lives in Spanish Fort - raves about the one in Loxley (the "Beach Express Buc-ee's" since it's at the exit for Gulf Shores/Orange Beach off of I-10) and says "you need to go" when they open. My excitement has been tempered somewhat as I can imagine what it'll be like when it does open up. Folks here in Huntsville seem to have a herd mentality and stampede towards anything new, especially restaurants. And Buc-ee's seems like it will have enough food offerings to qualify as a "restaurant". Throw in the fact that most people traveling along I-65 anywhere from Nashville to Montgomery seem to lose that many IQ points - 65 - when it comes to their driving ability and I can see that stretch of the interstate becoming a Charlie-Foxtrot!
  9. I would too, if that one pass took him over the top of this:
  10. If you're in the general vicinity of Evergreen...
  11. JABA? Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis? Japan Amateur Baseball Association? Jewish American Bar Association? Jackson Area Beekeepers Association?
  12. Interesting to know, appreciate you sharing your efforts with the rest of us Stat. I was in attendance at the Arky game last year, wish we could pull off an effort like that this year against ThuGA or the Updykes (preferably both).
  13. Couldn't agree more. This post plus the Upon Further Review and Game Report Card posts by StatTiger are the ones I look forward to after a game. Thanks JMR, keep the insightful posts coming.
  14. One of the announcers for the game agreed with you. After the pick of SW, he acknowledged that the pass should have been caught - #receiversfault - and kinda half-jokingly said those shouldn't count against a QB.
  15. Glad that you noticed their WRs (and it wasn't just me). My voice is still a little hoarse after the expletive-laced tirade I let go with about those receivers not being set as the ball was snapped on that last play. Like you said though, they DID make the right call in the end. WDE
