I was thinking the other day it may be a good thing if the school that a kid is transferring TO (or the player themself) ,  has to pay a % back of the Original school's  (transferring from) NIL investment.  Esp.  at the level of the SEC.  May be the SEC can work something  similar out.

Some NIL collectives are already structuring their deals that way. But it is the NIL collective, and not the school.

  2. Two random observations: Cade Belyeu is going to be really good player in this league. And Carter Wright should’ve been playing more the past couple of seasons. Good hitter and puts the ball in play almost every at bat. Hate that he’s a senior.

  3. Butch needs to stay but needs more NIL support to be more competitive. He also needs to get some headline HS pitchers.  Relying too much on JUCOs. They’re coming in with All American credentials but not adjusting to the SEC level of play in the 2 years they have.
FWIW, the only sport we have, men’s or women’s that can sustain success is MBB with Bruce.

  4. Bo is getting first round money that he wouldn’t have gotten if had stayed at Auburn. That’s generational wealth for him and his family. So it’s irrelevant if he becomes an all pro or never starts a game. AU football failed to take advantage of a great talent once again.

Your thread title is misleading Sir.

Also, being gay is def voluntary these days. Didn't use to be. All labels are pretty fluid these days.

That's also outdated Webb, more like 25% today, and still trending up.

Kids highschool had a day of celebration last year for having over 50% of their school declare to identify as lgbtq+

Though I'd say a lot of it in HS is the simple fact that it is trendy and cool to have a letter to identify with. While being a 'normy' is lame.

I would have to see the data on that. Historically the scientific data has consistently been in the 3-4% range. Kids declaring they’re gay because it’s trendy is a different set of stats altogether.

do you think any of the right leaning christians have hurt religion? i do, and i am called a hater for it.

I do believe that with the information flow today, it is easier to identify and call out the hypocrisy that is so prevalent in our culture. But I believe that the hypocrisy cuts across political lines. I also believe one of the worst setbacks for organized religion, especially in the South, has been the increased emphasis on world religion curriculums in the schools and shifting demographics. When I was in HS in the late 70s early 80s, we spent maybe a few days on ‘other’ regions and belief systems. When my kids went through HS to years ago, they had an entire semester and a dedicated textbook on it and came way highly informed on other options for belief systems and faiths. My HS in Etowah county was 95% Protestant, with a small handfuls of Catholics and even less Jewish students. My kids friends from grade school thru HS included Christians, Jews, Catholics, Muslims, Hindu, Shikh, LDS, Buddhists, and openly agnostic/atheist. It is much easier to dispel another faith or belief system if you aren’t educated on it and don’t have experience with its participants. Much harder to do when you’re educated on it and have friends with those beliefs.

I don't know anything about that, but I do know that it is very clear that in your mind everybody in the damn world is responsible for the behavior of my female employees in their 20s except them.

In your world it’s okay to hire people, then judge their sexual behaviors and to learn about their Only Fans sites in a workplace. Sounds like you need to do better hiring. I don’t know about my employees sex lives or bedroom activities, or Only Fans sites because we know it’s not appropriate to bring into the workplace.

Can you explain the difference between causation and correlation?

Don't worry.  Nobody else here can either.

Yep. Use it almost every day on my job while discussing medical data. Also trained on it during my MBA program.

Can you name a society that began blurring sexual and gender lines during its ascendancy or peak rather than at the end of its lifespan?

Can you name a major society that has crumbled because of the behavior of a tiny minority of the populous?  Maybe study Rome. The decline was much more complex than what went on in the bedrooms of 3 or 4% of the population. It was about greed, political corruption, poor resource allocation (wars instead of infrastructure), excessive violence, etc.

I notice the female employees I have in their 20s will screw any human being who can fog a mirror without regard to what gender they are.  (Well, not any human...they have to be in their 20s also, lest they be "old.")

You think it’s okay to have those kinds of opinions and stereotypes of your female employees?

What is funny about this line of thinking is Biden is so self serving that he believes he is the one that can right the ship and only he can accomplish such a task.  His ego is as big as his opponent.

This is pretty much true about every major player in US politics right now. (Biden, Trump, Pelosi, McConnell) You would have to be that delusional to keep doing what they’re doing into their 80s.

Couple of things: (1) Parker Carlson -- so happy for this young man from the Mobile area.   Last year I had the good fortune to travel with the team to Fayetteville for our opening series.   Parker's dad and uncle drove through the night to be there that weekend.   So happy to see him having some success.   Such a wonderful family.  (2) our coach -- last night around 8pm I tried calling him and it went to VM.   30 minutes later he called me back and said he missed my call because they were on the bus headed back to the hotel.  I told him he is still the same coach that made undrafted out of high school Casey Mize the #1 pick, the same coach that took us to 2 CWS.   He was very appreciative and said he and the staff never saw this coming.   He said he was embarrassed for everyone who loves Auburn.   No excuses.   just straight up I owe every Auburn fan an apology.    And today we get a W.   I texted him and told him I'm going to call Wednesday night but don't answer.   Wait 30 minutes and call me back.   He responded "I am so going to do that."   Watch us sweep Bama!!!!

Carlson and Tilly have the best swing and miss stuff on this staff in my opinion. And Watts continues to get better. I hope they’re all in the starting rotation next season.

  13. Bo received an elite title coming out of HS with by getting a 5 star rating. Now he’s elite again by being a first round NFL draft pick. The only time he didn’t play at an elite level was his time at Auburn. Our coaches and program squandered a huge opportunity and held him back. I’m happy he was able to make a rational rather emotional decision and left AU to maximize his potential. Hopefully Hugh can do better with our program moving forward.

Did you watch the full video?

No. Not seeing it is why I have a flexible opinion. And even if there is a ‘whole’ video, was there some other activities not captured on video. I have one standard on these incidents: Let’s hear from both sides with full context before proclaiming victims and aggressors.

People should comply, but what separates us from Russia or communist China is the ability of the public to comment on government action and demand that action be modified if warranted.

And what separates us from unlawful nations is allowing police to do the jobs they are paid to do. I long ago quit being judge and jury on these situations without knowing the full context and content. If she was obeying the law and he randomly started grabbing her shame on him and may he be held accountable. If she was breaking the law and he was attempting to arrest her and she resisted, shame on her and may she be held accountable. Seems to me that is the most logical and fair approach to the situation.

I find these protesters annoying, but much of the reaction is over the top. What exactly are we supposed to arrest and expel over? If they disrupt, block egress/ingress, meet the legal definition of a threat or harassment, then absolutely. It seems like many, especially Republican politicians, want to punish the protest itself. And while I think much of it is ridiculous, the 1st Amendment allows a lot of ridiculousness.

“Johnson and other speakers, which included Republican politicians from New York, repeatedly mentioned violence against Jewish students, though no such violence has been reported at Columbia.”

Peaceful protest lines are definitely being crossed according to this article.

Butch can't be teaching that every day with everything else he has to deal with, only so much time those guys can be on the field or in the pen.  Take a look at the programs that have entrenched themselves at the top of the league and see who has pitching coach turnover.  Alan Dunn was at LSU how long...?  Arkansas and Vandy likewise.

I agree with this. But would add a couple of things. The first is obvious: recruit better arms. I saw a stat from last night that we threw over 130 pitches and less than 50% were strikes. That’s scary at a collegiate level shouldn’t require a coach to fix at this point. The second is our physical training program. We’ve got two or three starters in the field who look soft and underdeveloped physically. We have some studs but not enough and not well developed enough for the SEC.
FWIW, I’m a big fan of Butch and I know Cohen is a baseball guy. I hope they work together to get this program better able to compete consistently in the SEC.
