Bo received an elite title coming out of HS with by getting a 5 star rating. Now he’s elite again by being a first round NFL draft pick. The only time he didn’t play at an elite level was his time at Auburn. Our coaches and program squandered a huge opportunity and held him back. I’m happy he was able to make a rational rather emotional decision and left AU to maximize his potential. Hopefully Hugh can do better with our program moving forward.

My opinion: Butch has some big decisions coming up for his coaching staff. Both hitting and pitching. Lots of regression on the field in both areas.

Vintage Auburn. Earlier: great bats, no arms. Now: pitchers getting it done and no bats. The only positive at this point is getting our young guys some playing time.

No. Not seeing it is why I have a flexible opinion. And even if there is a ‘whole’ video, was there some other activities not captured on video. I have one standard on these incidents: Let’s hear from both sides with full context before proclaiming victims and aggressors.

And what separates us from unlawful nations is allowing police to do the jobs they are paid to do. I long ago quit being judge and jury on these situations without knowing the full context and content. If she was obeying the law and he randomly started grabbing her shame on him and may he be held accountable. If she was breaking the law and he was attempting to arrest her and she resisted, shame on her and may she be held accountable. Seems to me that is the most logical and fair approach to the situation.

I agree with this. But would add a couple of things. The first is obvious: recruit better arms. I saw a stat from last night that we threw over 130 pitches and less than 50% were strikes. That’s scary at a collegiate level shouldn’t require a coach to fix at this point. The second is our physical training program. We’ve got two or three starters in the field who look soft and underdeveloped physically. We have some studs but not enough and not well developed enough for the SEC. FWIW, I’m a big fan of Butch and I know Cohen is a baseball guy. I hope they work together to get this program better able to compete consistently in the SEC.

This is turning into Butch’s version of Chizik’s 2012 football team. Outmanned and outgunned.

Came across a video today where interviewers go to a Trump rally and expose the MAGA idiocy. In this one, a woman was asked if she would vote for Putin over Biden. She said she would. Said Putin was for morality and values and didn’t do all the gender nonsense. It was 13 minutes long but I had to turn it off halfway in. It was terrifying to see that level of lunacy.

I’m hopeful, but not overly optimistic they catch the scammer and throw him under the jail. We really need to crack down hard on those despicable scum. I know we have to technology to find them, we just don’t seem to have the will to do it.

I would hope he pays the price for shooting an unarmed person to death.

I’m rarely in the “fire the coach” crowd. Especially for a guy in his first year. But there are som flashing signs around Teaford in my opinion. One, the number of veterans who have regressed. Two is the number of high velocity hits and HRs we are giving up. (Including to 7-8-9 hitters) And three is the number of damage being done on 0-2 counts. The second half of the season is here so I’m interested to see if any of that improves.

Has to be a very damaging weekend for this team, assuming it ends this way. I’m not happy at all with our coaches. Pitchers have regressed under Teaford. Gabe has to be leading the league in getting guys thrown out at home. And I’ve seen UKs HC more today than I’ve seen of Butch all season. At some point he needs to unfold his arms and get out of the dugout. I’m all for a laid back style If that’s your thing but at some point you have to quit delegating and make your presence felt. Last thing while I’m on a roll. More strength and conditioning. Pretty much every team we’ve played is bigger and stronger than us and it’s showing on the field. I know it’s not football but we need more beef on the field to compete in the SEC.

Game 2: Gabe gets another runner thrown out at home by a mile. This makes about 7 or 8 by my count. Sent 260 pound McMurray who was out by about 15 feet. He’s been doing it all season. So frustrated with so many components of this team.

I love the love the passion DC plays with, and how he represents us with so much passion. But if the is going to increase minutes, he needs to be smarter with some of the fouls he gets.

We’re giving up an unusually high amount of 2 out runs and 2 strike hits. And giving up a lot of high velocity hits and home runs. It’s one thing for that to be happening to one or two pitchers. It’s another for it to be happening to almost every pitcher. At some point you have to question Teaford. Either he’s doing a bad job calling pitches or he’s tipping his pitches. Either way, I’ve seen enough of him already.

College athletes have been paid for decades. The only thing happening now is how is it going to be regulated and by whom.
