If any of you have daughters who play softball it's well worth having them go to the Kinesiology building and have them go through strength/agility/hitting testing with them. They are always looking for girls for testing. They do throwing as well, but we didn't have time for that. They'll send them a Rapsodo report with the exit velocities and all that stuff, plus a write up that includes recommended stretches and things of that nature. We did it earlier this year, my daughter enjoyed it. Worth the drive back and forth from Atlanta.
I do not but that is good information! Thanks for sharing...

We need to get back deep into the postseason. When we were making our runs into supers etc, we added the upper bleachers. We just need to finish strong more consistently imo
Precisely my point.... So is performance relavant? Or does it appear to be a Title IX issue?
Baseball... 23 baseball appearances, 6 of which we won the Regionals, and 5 times to the World Series.
And AU Softball has 17 post season appearances, 3 Super Regionals with 2 WCWS appearances...
And I didn't see metal bleachers on the broadcast for Baseball like the aluminum additions that were made to softball.....
-
On TV this AU baseball stadium looks so much nicer than the AU softball stadium....
-
I know right... but when I see the guys baseball facilities compared to the ladies softball facilities it is night and day. It is very sad as they are no where near being similar or equal...... not an opinion but an observation....

Dang... seeing the AU baseball field complex on TV compared to softball.... cannot believe there is NOT an uproar over the difference in facilities..... it's like rec fields and Turner Field.....

Good start guys!

Crazy to think how good Texas is now and we beat Texas in that opening tourney.
Yes that it is very frustrating..... and that was before all the data was out on the young team we had. It was evident as the season went on that we did NOT make adjustments and with injuries... and once we got into the SEC play the competition we became a less than average SEC program... we finished towards the bottom once again improving by 1 spot to #10. And yes have had to deal with Myers fiasco, a pandemic, altough we did improve from last year, and yes we had a lot of injuries. I do not see us improving without changing something in the coaching philosophy area. JMO not looking to argue ..... just venting on the ending of our 2022 season!! And at least we are NOT that other school that flopped and underachieved this season. Dumpster fire in West Alabama is what I am hearing over there ...We ended up where we were projected.... We have options... drop 2 spots in the SEC rankings or 9 spots to move up... Optimistic play is to move up... 😆
RANT OVER!!
GO AU baseball tonight!!! War Eagle!!!

So it was an error by Carisone that cost Auburn that last game?

We had every opportunity to beat them. We beat ourselves in the last game.
Well would that be coaching or a lack there of? What would you say was the reason?

OU doesn't die at all. They may not "live" by the long ball, but they have hit 138 home runs, and I believe that leads the country. They have 508 hits so 26.5% of their hits are home runs.
Correct and 1 of their players has 29... 😆 against a SOLID schedule with a RPI of #1 while we sit at #32.... we HAVE to play a better quality of opponents outside of SEC play if we want to host again or be relevant.. Especially with OU and Texas coming to the SEC.... speedy runners on base puts pressure on the pitchers. We have seen that in our own games... IMO
-
I noticed that most of the teams for instance: UF, OU, Texas, etc. do not live or die by the LONG ball. They have slappers and speed that kills in their respective line ups. Not to mention in a couple years both OU and Texas are coming to the SEC. That in itself will improve our lack of "SOS" ...... just my opinion and observation.....

lol sucked the fun out of softball? Are you kidding me? This has been the most fun season since the Meyers royally screwed this program.
And you think Dean isn't recruiting. He had his best class last season and has followed it up with another great one. I decided to go back through the rosters for the past several seasons to see how many players left Auburn because they transferred or graduated. It's a hell of a long list.
Rachel Cook
Jaylin Calvert
Phoebe Florian
Kaylee Horton
Justus Perry
Abby Tissier
Rachel Cook
Alyssa Rivera
Lexie Handley
Makenna Dowell
Haley Nillen
Tyler King
Maddison Koepke
Carmyn Greenwood
Casey Mccrackin
Charonnay Harris
Bree Fornis
Morgan Podany
Kendall Veach
Makayla Martin
KK Crocker
Dakota Morrow
Jenna Olzewski
Kaylee Carlson
Livy Schiele
Kara Belodeau
Breanna Gutierrez
Victoria Draper
Courtney Shea
Carlee Wallace
Haley Fagan
Whitney Jordan
Madi Gipson
Laney Joyner
Emily SPain
Kasey Cooper
Alexa Nemeth
Jenna Abbott
Sydne Waldrop
Courtney SheaMadi Perry
Ashlee Swindle
Jadia Jones
Brittany Maresette
Tannon Snow
Taylon Snow
Tate MoseleyThat's 47 players who left between 2017-2021. A lot of them transferred and Dean has replaced those with a bunch of Freshman and Sophomores that he can't redshirt because he doesn't have the bodies. Last season he signed 9 freshman and still had a better season than when we had a bunch of seniors. So we're young because the lineup he inherited was a bunch of juniors and seniors that he has now replaced with freshman and sophomores. And also a lot of players transferred because of the Meyers situation.
Everyone should have known Dean wasn't going to come in here and hit the ground running right away. Not with the scandal. He has got to have time to be able to rebuild this team and allow his highly recruited signing classes to grow and get experience. Next year, if the team takes a step back we can hit the panic button but not yet.
ULL was a totally different team once Glassco showed up. Glad he wasn't there for our first game against them..
I see girls on this list that left or transferred that would have been extremely helpful to have this year or last...and you gotta wonder exactly why they left...
Swindall - ??
Dowell- Minnesota
Snow - Oklahoma (well think I would have left AU for them too)
Handley - Ohio State
Keopke - UGA (was a starter)
Mosley- OF and Transferred to Troy
And there are more I could name on that list as well.
Just sad that the program has plummeted from an WCWS program to a bottom of the SEC program. Can't put all the blame on CMD. Gotta give a lot to AG as well. He is also a big issue with AU athletics and their performance of late...

Both Bri and Jessie gave it a ride to LF and both looked good off the bat. Just dies in the air it seemed.
That is a Mizuno bat for you... those bats are crap.

I have not watched much softball this year. I’ve r read a little of what y’all have been saying about CMD.
HAVE to say I’m beginning to agree. This team is just sloppy. Even I can see that.
ADAG and CMD need to be relieved of their duties... FULL of poor decisions!!!

Wow... CMD is not a good HC..... He may be a good pitching coach but AU wasted money on another 4 years with his contract extension..... 5 or 6 errors.... we are getting beat because of coaching...

Dean has Yarborough warming up.... Why? Our 4th string should not be seeing the field in an elimination game that we are tied in 2-2. Very puzzling.
Well the kid had performed well prior to covid and been injury prone since... who knows... maybe she is healthy now.. would be great for a UF like performance from her if she does come in.... but again this game is about who wants it more...

Because our #2 and #3 pitchers aren't good enough to pitch better against a team that just played 11 innings. It's sad but true and has been the biggest issue all season. We're a 1 pitcher team because Lowe could never get fully healthy.
And Yarborough had a shoulder issue. Dismukes had knee surgery... Supposedly Lowe is having surgery over the summer. And Yarborough did only throw 7 or 8 pitches in her last outing against UGA to retire the side... who knows...
-
Well that should be error #2 on Peralta... 107 pitches for Penta... urghhh and winner of this region goes to Oklahoma Super....
-
Should be an error on Peralta. It was in her glove and should have been completed. I did not see a snow cone on the replay...
-
Packer got hosed! And the body language this inning of Penta... she looks like her back is bothering her again like in the fall... better score some runs quickly.... need momentum

Ellis pops up. We're getting under a lot of balls. All of our outs have been pop ups or strike outs.

That is what happens when you don't swing level through the zone.

This would not be logical. It is my understanding that he is not allowed contact with the program.
Ken Brooke
Private hitting coach and hitting technology specialist at Auburn University softball.
I believe he has been involved since August 2021.
Not sure why you think it has to be logical. I didn't question them nor was I asking about their kid's hitting. Merely told them their kid was hitting well as a conpliment, and that's when she said their kid is going to Casey Myers. And yes the kid is a starter.... and she informed me there are others as well that go to the Myers...

Very interesting if true. We all know coaching was never the issue with the family.
If this is true, it is a smart move by Dean that I assume was facilitated by Carosone.
No it wasn't a CMD move.... the Dad kind of got upset when the Mom starting telling folks....
