  1. I believe it may be Florida since Auburn is going all out for Phillips. It was said on this board that Auburn wouldn't take both.
  2. I see he only has 4 posts on his page. I really don't see him as a recruit that loves attention. You never know with teenagers. They constantly change their minds. I see Auburn is the only visit he posted. I guess he's close to making a decision wherever that may be.
  3. Is this a good sign? https://www.instagram.com/p/Cc6BMfPpo11/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  4. Is Phillips still on campus? I thought his visit ended yesterday?
  5. https://www.google.com/amp/s/flywareagle.com/2022/04/27/auburn-basketball-traore-wants-phillips/amp/
  6. Former Auburn player leaves Tennessee I wonder is everything good mentally with this young man. I read where he also transferred 3 or 4 times during his high school career. Now he's leaving Tennessee after one season.
  7. The visit went well according to this article. I guess we will all know soon.
  8. Do we now move on to Broome? Phillips is going to be special. A 6'8" SF that will cause mismatches on the court. So glad we already signed Westry. He's underrated but is very good.
  9. I trust Pearl and the coaching staff. I have to just get out of my head that there will probably never be another rim protector like Kessler. I'm just going to miss teams scared to drive to the basket because they knew Kessler was there waiting to block their shot. We could take many chances on defense because he would erase so many mistakes. I'm just hoping we will have the frontcourt to compete with Florida and Kentucky. Then I would just hate for Broome to go somewhere else and be great like Kessler came here from North Carolina and became Defensive Player of the Year.
  10. Jaylin Williams and Stretch will be Seniors this upcoming season. At least if we would sign Broome, we would have him and Cardwell as big man the following season. I'm assuming Phillips and Traore are one and done type of players. Now you have to recruit the transfer portal and high school players. I see only one big man in the 23' class crystal balled to Auburn, the 6'10 young man from North Carolina who has visited twice. I just feel if we pass up on Broome, even if we sign Phillips, it is going to come back and bite us. I like Jaylin Williams but I still feel he is undersized and will get exposed around the rim. Stretch and Moore will not bring much off the bench unless they really develop in the off-season.
  11. Yes, if Cardwell starts at the 5. That leaves Stretch coming off the bench and opposing team's will be like Sharks seeing blood in the water. Broome and Caselton seems like the better duo on paper. I was hoping we would take Broome and Phillips and hope that the returning guards develop their shots in the off season. Phillips is tall but needs a season of college strength and conditioning especially playing in the SEC. He seems small in frame and will constantly get posted up. What wing are we recruiting to help with 3-point shooting?
  12. No offense but Cardwell and Stretch do not have the skill set to be starters. Stretch was terrible the season he last played. He constantly got beat by the other team's post players. I just hate to see Broome go to Florida then he and Castleton become the best front court in the SEC. Jaylin Williams is an undersized post who will get out rebounded by bigger post players. We need a rim protector. I don't see no one on this current roster playing that role.
  13. I thought Phillips is more of a 3/4 player. Who's going to anchor the middle? Broome will play the 5.
  14. The Tennessee transfer that visited Thursday-Friday just committed to Louisville. Hopefully, this is a sign Broome is coming.
  15. Oscar announced he's staying at Kentucky another season.
  16. I would hate for someone like Jaylin Williams to leave, but you have to say yes to Phillips and Broome if both wants to come. Phillips is so versatile and will cause mismatches especially if he plays the 3 position. Broome is so good around the rim and probably have more offensive skills than Kessler. This team could be really good next season. Westry's shooting ability and getting to the rim is another weapon Auburn would have. Games against Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas and Alabama will be primetime games as they all have great players coming in also.
  17. Per 247, it looks like the battle will be between Auburn and Florida. He is from Tampa, FL. Looks to be making decision after Florida official visit.
  18. I wish teams will take a chance on Harper. His shooting ability and quickness to get to the rim. If he was taller, I feel like teams wouldn't be hesitant to sign him to a roster instead of all these two way contracts. Keep striving young man.
  19. Here's the link for anyone that wants to follow the transfer portal commitment. Brandon Murray is supposedly committing today. https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Basketball/TransferPortalTop/
  20. On a Tennessee forum, they are saying that he has a lot of people in his ears. Rumors are spreading that he called Barnes saying he should be a starter and at least play 30 minutes per game next season. They are saying he has played at 5 schools in 5 years. To me he is not that good and we don't need a cancer like that in the program disrupting team chemistry.
  21. For anyone that has an ON3 account. The article that was posted yesterday states Auburn is keying in on two big men. Who are the two big men Auburn is keying in on to replace Kessler? Its a premium content article. https://www.on3.com/teams/auburn-tigers/news/auburn-working-on-2-big-men-to-replace-nba-bound-walker-kessler/
  22. I can see Arkansas as #1 because they are loaded, but I don't know how they will gel. I think they will have three 1st round draft picks on their team next season. They bring in 6 players. They will now see how it feels to have the target on their backs. For some reason, I just don't get the feeling that Alabama players enjoy playing for Nate Oates. They look uninspired and frustrated on the court especially when they are not hitting shots. They don't seem motivated to play for Oates and one of their assistants acts a pure a** on the sidelines and huddles. Shackleford and Quinerly their top two guards are most likely not returning next season. Shackleford declared for the draft and is hiring an agent. Ellis is a senior. I can see Tennessee being really good again but it depends on their point guard situation. I like where Auburn will be. Underrated without the targets on our backs. How the off-season roster align, Auburn may shock a lot of people again next season.
  23. That's a big risk because I think they players have until the middle of May to withdraw from their name from the NBA draft. I feel like schools are going to jump on Bates. I trust the coaching staff. I hear they all are excellent recruiters especially Steven Pearl and Wes Flanagan.
