  1. His mistake was giving the offensive reigns to a guy who he didn’t agree with on scheme. He hires Montgomery, lets him install an offense that Freeze himself said he didn’t even understand the terminology. He comes out and tells everyone who will listen that this years team is basically devoid of talent so he needs to focus on recruiting. When that team devoid of talent struggles offensively he immediately blames the OC in a press conference to the world. Starts meddling in play calling himself which confuses the team even further, all the while running two QB’s out there constantly just in case the defense wasn’t 100% sure if they were about to run it or pass it. To top it off, every play that worked, he called, every play that didn’t, Montgomery called. Did I miss anything??
  2. I think your fear may come true. Two 5 stars who were sold on early playing time will definitely be looking get theirs. There will be a lot of pressure on the QB and the play caller.
  3. So Walker hits a wheel route in a high school game and Brown completes a few passes against 3rd stringers and you’re ready for them to lead the team next year??
  4. What pro coach do you know that would rush zero and put offensive guys in the game in that scenario??
  5. Jerry Kill has Hugh Freeze figured out. Simple as that. NMSU beat Liberty 49-14 last year with Freeze. Liberty beat NMSU 33-17 this year obviously without Freeze. NMSU 31-10 on Saturday with Freeze. 100% out-coached from scheme to motivation.
  6. In all honesty, not much happened. Beating a weak MSU team playing without their starting QB and RB at home doesn’t really tell us much. Neither will a win this weekend. To me, the big test for year one under the new regime is the Arkansas game. On the road, in the one game of the season that I’d consider a true toss up. That will be game number 10, no more excuses about QB rotations, who’s calling plays, what packages are approved, how much tempo and rpo is being run, how thin the D is, etc.
  7. Well I think the product on the field looked better here last year and the product on the field at Liberty looks better this year. What does that say about Freeze?
