  1. Who's the poorly closeted Bamzo in the first vid? Not only is his blather nothing original but it's a bald, emotional slam of Auburn ("you can do blah blah at bama and jawja but not auburn"). I kept waiting for him to reference Thorne's MSU play with 2 NFL caliber WRs - Freeze just went out and got 3 - but he simply plays to the lowest common denominator.

  2. Comparing coaching eras is ambitious, and having NO dedicated home town/state Auburn media base is an issue not facing many coaches elsewhere. Lots not being posted here - during his burnout slide Malzahn still beat #1 twice in 3 weeks & outcoached Saban more than once in the Ironbowl. Dye's recruiting from nothing & judgment in dropping wishbone for one, promising player (Bo). Shug's precancer, world class recruiting ability for 20 years. Donahue is THE one that put Auburn on the football map. Tator Tot was a phenomenal game day coach (vs dreadful recruiting) for two seasons. Tubbs was often terrific but created some of his own bad luck. Not a Chizik-as-coach fan (great guy though) - right place at right time. Cliff Hare was Fielding Yost, but an academics-first guy.

Our Mt. Rushmore is Gus or Tubbs, Dye, Shug & Donahue.

For youngsters whining "it was before my time," did they teach y'all to read history books in school?

  3. PR attempt by NCAA which right now is sucking wind badly. Typically repugnant "logic" of our post-reason era. Reggie Bush got caught on a grand scale not playing by the rules colleges agreed the NCAA could create and enforce. However, because others ALSO broke the rules and the SCOTUS told NCAA to change the rules, his cheating is now okay.

  4. Thanks, Zeek - great points. May sound cynical but other than center, I doubt the "better" OL schtick, it's another mediocre patchwork of promising talent and underachieving transfer veterans. QB discussion of course should include perpetual oline mediocrity and our crazy OC turnover. Like most QBs, Thorne when healthy thrived with a great MSU O line. Sad abt Geriner but you're prob right.

Many individual bright spot guys on this team who will play on Sundays.

No one cares about the sec . Yeah at the time it was great but the other schools (Tenn, uat ) got ready for the real deal. Auburn whined and complained the whole way to Spokane and then all the way back.

Whining and complaining about our fans having to travel 2500 to spokane after team we crazy supported all season won major conf tourn was...is...legit.

Thing about all sports boards, most people havent coached 20 year olds in high stakes and dont understand the power of them putting together their best ball (cough cough Yale cough cough) against 20 year olds with the periodic blahs (they aint pros) . You just hope it doesnt happen to your team when it counts. Give Yale credit for that day against us.

  6. One if the major things I still dont understand about NIL is the agreement phase. We pay you blah blah $$$ and you agree (contract) to play for us. After your agreement we at least somewhat back off recruiting your position because you will fill that need/position. You then decommit after agreement, especially late in the cycle, we're at least partially screwed. Right?

I was not a big fan of his hire, and not a blind supporter of his coaching decisions, thus far. But he may be better suited for the current college football climate than many other coaches, including Nick Saban. While Saban thrived for years in the then CFB culture, he’s not well suited for the current one.

Nick hates the current culture. Freeze may not like it either, but I sense he has more patience for it and a willingness to adapt to it. He’s hungry to prove himself which helps in tolerating the more annoying aspects of the current climate. That said, I think the current system is unsustainable and will ultimately exhaust most coaches.

Yes, CFB issues are still a fast moving target. If your coach is(not) suited for its current business model, wait a few months.

Thorne is always late with the ball. He will never excel as a passer in the SEC.

Bold statement. His receivers have historically run crap routes, leaving him to throw to where he thinks they'll be - instead of to a spot w/ timing. He's still throwing to only 2-3 SEC caliber receivers so your prediction may come true. Whomever replaces Thorne in 2025 should have less reason to be "late with the ball".

QB's look mediocre/bad, as everyone should expect.

Don't be surprised to see a QB added in the late transfer window. Hopefully it's not too late.

Interesting. Most non-auburn 3d parties I've talked with say Thorne to Cam/Fairweather/Deal looks unstoppable, w/ jury still out on Brown to half dozen other receivers. White looks like a youngster with all the tools. Guy I talked to said "y'all dont need Thorne to go down with an injury, he needs to protect himself more."

  10. 27 win, SEC tourny champ Auburn's fans will be rewarded with a 4 seed and have to fly cross country to play in Spokane bracket.
21 win Bama, who didn't make it out of the quarters, was given a 4 seed and bammers only have to drive to play in Memphis. 7 seed Florida's path actually looks better than ours.

    Can't make up this crap.

AU shot so well that USCe only scored 61 points. Makes perfect sense 🤣

USC shot 35% in that game but Paris says we won due to our shooting anomaly, nothing to do with our D. If our D deserves so little credit he needs to get on his shooters who are apparentky so unchallenged and still 35%.

USC losing now by 30 w/ 3 min remaining.

  12. USC head coach says our 40 pt win over them last month was due to our "shooting anomaly." We shot lights out that game but our D absolutely stuffed them too. USC can be very good and Im not taking this game for granted, but knd of a dbag pregame statement from Paris.

    Go Auburn!
