  1. USC head coach says our 40 pt win over them last month was due to our "shooting anomaly." We shot lights out that game but our D absolutely stuffed them too. USC can be very good and Im not taking this game for granted, but knd of a dbag pregame statement from Paris.

    Go Auburn!

I bet you this is more of Auburn’s doing than ESPN.

Bingo. And may well be a sign that our spring game will be substantive for a change (read: keeping it behind closed doors rather than having bamas moonpie D staff look at our O development under new coaches).

Agreed. We match up way better against SC.

Double-edged sword. We do not match up with FL as they kicked our ass a few weeks ago. Broome does not like shooting over taller guys.

On the other hand, FL is not good away from home, going 3-7 in true road games (4-2 neutral sites) and just lost at Vandy.

But FL has been hot down the stretch. All of their losses have been super tight games.

    Much prefer playing SC.

FL lost last night to the worst team in thr SEC, 8 win Vandy.

For those oddly preferring our #4 draw vs UT, the SEC Tournament's in Tennessee.

  4. Yeah Al.com and ESPN will no doubt call it "funny math" too. Bama is #3 in SEC tourn and Auburn's #4 - meaning we have to play #1 TN. Bama & AU are both 13-5 in conf, AU is 24-7, Bama's 21-10, Auburn's ranked higher nationally. In reg season Bama won by 4 over auburn in Tuscaloosa, auburn beat bama by 18 in auburn (more recently).

    $illy math i$ more accurate.

  5. "Auburn is a tier-one coaching staff in the SEC. Hugh Freeze has a lot to do with that. They lost both coordinators, but they upgraded. They added 176 games of overall coaching experience. The offensive support staff is down just a little bit, but the defensive support staff's grade is up. They added DJ Durkin at defensive coordinator. Charles Kelly came in as co-defensive coordinator and is a big-time addition. I don't think many people would put them there, but the numbers do."

Not many folks would say Mizzou is as high as tier 2 and Okla as low as tier 3, either. Some sports writers' weak bs rankings.

You forget about his successes at LSU and he got MSU to beating Michigan a few times as well.  In addition, he was a good DC with the Cleveland Browns.  I am not sure what you mean by swinging at a hire. If you mean they just stumbled by accident and got him you are wrong.  Mal Moore told them he would get a good coach if they opened their wallets and he actively pursued Saben.

Swing: Rich Rodriguez was Bama's first choice. When he told ole Mal to go pound sand (miss), plan B Saban emerged. Lucky.

I do hope he lives up to Daniel Cobb’s number…

Hope he comes off the bench to rally us past a #1 (UF) like Daniel. Hope he doesn't have to overcome profound shoulder setbacks at 19 like Cobb.

Deion doesn’t owe anyone but himself. Yall always trying to pit great athletes against each other. They both speak highly of each other. Get the malice out of your heart once in a while and enjoy some great commentary and insight.

I tutored Bo at Auburn and kept in touch with him. My post is Bo's opinion too. Sonny.

Feel like this is being seen as a neutral hire by most.

Either that or a lotta posters here just have hiring fatigue

Not many posts for a 2 day old hire thread 🤷‍♂️

Not much to comment on. Young up & coming professional with short but impressive resume & great references from former employers. Go get em, dog!

  10. IMO starters barring injury are pretty obvious at most positions going into spring and most of those guys are SEC mid-pack caliber good. Depth is a concern everywhere. This may be our most surprisingly improved WR grp (esp blocking) and surprsingly bad Dline in recent memory. Player attitude was SO much better in '23, I hope we have leaders in '24 because we'll still have 2d string/frustration (read: portal-angst) issues.
