Shug, when asked the reasoning behind him planting them, he said he was going to be in AU long enough to watch them mature. I never heard this story except from my dad. If indeed this is true, and if those trees were a desirable species for Toomers corner, I think a couple of them would make a suitable replacement. Has anybody ever heard of this story before?
