What is the problem?

Is it the players or our coaches? Are our staff not doing their job in getting the guys ready to go for every game?

I think it's some of both. Our coaches clearly haven't recruited the kind of pitching you need to perform at a high level in this conference. Besides one or two guys, we have virtually nothing. Looks like early on in the Pawlowski era, we have recruited a lot of hitting and no pitching. Even our pitching last year was bad in SEC play, but because our offense was so ridiculously good, it didn't really matter. Does the Saturday game of last year's Miss. St. series bring back any memories?

Having said that, walking 12 batters in a game and 5 batters in an inning where you have a 6-run lead is on the players. All our pitchers have to do is throw the ball down the middle and they won't give up 9 runs in an inning. There's absolutely no excuse for that kind of showing, especially in one inning. The coaches can't go out there and pitch for them. There comes a point where the players have to perform and get the job done. Period.
