MDM4AU 336
I am not sure I understand how USA Today came up with "Kerry holds edge over Bush following first debate," but maybe they are right. (Before any of you argumentative Dems get started - That's not a flame.) Judge For Yourself

AURaptor 1,125
What may have appeared to many to be a slam dunk for Kerry, seems to have been a clunker that rimmed out of the net. Bush won .. - most believable - most likeable - tough enough for the job Bush 54 Kerry 37 Dems can put away those party hats now.
Proud Tiger 4,261
Maybe I'm missing it but don't seea question to support the headline. The question in all this should be...."after last night's debate who would you vote for today?" Curiously they didn't ask that question. I would concede Kerry is a better debater, more polished, etc. But he also came across as snobbish, arrogant, etc. which won't change many votes. I expect Bush to drop a couple of points in reaction to the debate but he will win hands down in November. The people will vote for who they trust most on terrorism and handing of the war and if you notice, Bush won on both of those questions. Sorry USA Today.......nice try but no cigar.
