wallace strikes out swinging and chased a bad pitch. Jade Rhodes up.

Wallace a bit over eager and goes down swinging on a hit pitch...which brings up Jade who flies out to right on the first pitch....can't recall the last time JR has had a hit with a runner on base.

Anyway....2 outs and Fagan at the plate.

Yeah, its called hitting the ball and hitting it out of the infield. Unorthodox? Really?

Yep. And as a first baseman, I was always taught that once a ball was hit through the infield with no one one, move to the inside of the baseline. And as a base runner, I was taught to do what Carosone did.

Is it cheeky? Yes. But it's the game and it was a heads up play by Carosone.

Caught her looking on a very nice pitch over the outside corner of the plate.....so AU maintains the 4-1 lead with two more innings to play.

Martin has pitched a solid game...only issue has been allowing the lead off batters to reach base a few times..but has managed to work her way out of the problems.

Nice play by Martin...ball got back to her quickly but she knocked it down and then made a good throw to Jade for the out.
