Freedom to peacefully assemble?

It doesn't even matter if you're a veteran. If you're against this war, you can't march in Veteran's Day Parade.

Anti-Iraq war veterans pulled from parade

I guess you missed this part......

Col. Michael Spak, a retired colonel in the U.S. Army reserves and professor at the Chicago-Kent College of Law, noted the U.S. Supreme Court considers free speech less protected at privately sponsored events than those that are held publicly.

"The court has held they can't stop you from picketing, but they can stop you from marching in a private parade," Spak said. "There's a difference. If it's a city event, that's one thing, But if it's private, they have a right to bar a group."

But like all liberals, its ALWAYS within your rights to rain on sombody ELSE's parade. (No pun intended)

Kinda ironic, ain't it? A Veteran's Day Parade where Veterans aren't allowed to march.

No it is a veterans day parade organized by a select number of organized veterans that had their free speech rights violated by a bunch of leftwing thought nazis.

To be really closed minded these days is to be a liberal. You only have rights to one opinion, the one approved by them.

Parade chairman Ken Conroy, a Korean War veteran, said he ejected the anti-war veterans because they were offensive and because Tallahassee police also wanted them removed. He offered to refund their $10 registration fee and said he was not suppressing the group's free speech rights.

It didn't seem to bother them until the police asked for them to be removed. They HAD paid their registration fee just like everyone else. You mention closed mind. Who was refusing to let the other side have their say? I don't think it was the "liberals" denying the other side the right to march and have their message heard. Of course, it's easy to twist words for a conservative. It's the only way they know to debate issues when they're always on the wrong side of a disagreement!!
