Auburn is 14-5-0 in their last 19 meetings against top ten teams. Coach Tuberville is now 4-0-0 against top five opponents since arriving at Auburn. Coach Jordan was 5-15-0, Barfield was 0-4-0, Dye was 4-10-2 and Bowden was 2-6-0. During the first half of the Florida game, the Gators averaged 12.3 yards per play on first down. That average dropped to 3.09 yards in the second half. Of Auburn's 9 offensive possessions, the Tigers ran at least six offensive plays in 7 of the 9 trips to the field. The Gators had only 6 plays or more in 4 of their 10 possessions. Auburn's average starting field position was their own 36 and Florida started at their own 19. After gaining 194 yards against Auburn in the first half, Florida was held to 85 yards in the second half. Coming into the Florida game, Auburn had only converted their opponent's turnovers into 17 points. Including the blocked punt and safety against Florida, Auburn scored 18 points off of the Gator's miscues. During the first five games, 32% of Brandon Cox's pass attempts came on first down. In the last two games, it has increased to 43%.
