The two biggest "WTF" I noticed was that 5 of the 6 SEC West teams have a bye-week before playing the Tide. Ole Miss is the lone exception, but they face LA Tech. Ole Miss is the lone exception, but they face LA Tech. Strange coincidence but I have seen similar before. I think it was 2001 or 2002 and it was Mike Leach’s first year at the helm of Texas Tech after being OC for Oklahoma. Every single Big 12 team on OU’s schedule played Texas Tech the week before they played the Sooners. OU fans thought it was so they could get a preview of Oklahoma’s offensive schemes but from what I understand about scheduling it is very difficult and such things are just odd quirks of the process.
