Walter Camp Award The 44th recipient of the Walter Camp Player of the Year award, Newton is the third Auburn player – joining Pat Sullivan (QB, 1971) and Bo Jackson (RB, 1985) – to earn the honor. The Walter Camp Player of the Year is voted on by the nation’s 120 Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors. Other finalists for the Walter Camp 2010 Player of the Year award included Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck and Oregon running back LaMichael James.
