Marcus Lattimore...Why AU?

O.k. guys since apparently recruits might read these threads lets help Marcus out.According to Marcus he has narrowed his college of choice down to two schools,Auburn and South Carolina.Since we all know that he can get a quality education at both institutions, let's just talk football for a sec.Marcus has a huge decision to make in the coming weeks and make no mistake it is a hard one.He obviously loves both schools and is just weighing the differences.I don't want this thread to become a bashing of South Carolina as we all should show some class............SC is a good school, but so is Auburn.Marcus obviously loves SC and we should respect that. With that being said lets all name ONE(so everyone can chime in)thing that we think will benefit Marcus by choosing AU on Feb 2. Let's all put our heads together and give him the positives about coming to play football at AU over SC. I will start.

The offensive line.

Auburn will return the most seasoned O line in the SEC this year giving the rookies plenty of protection while they adjust to the offense and speed of the game. Auburn is also signing the #1 YES #1 offensive line in the country this year giving our freshman backs the best protection possible over their tenure at Auburn the next 3 or 4 years, and for any running back this is HUGE!........................................Next. :we:

He can come into this system and really produce. With his running style and hard work ethic, he fits in perfectly with the Auburn Family. :wareagle:

We run the ball more than SC does. USCe's offense is more pass happy. Auburn's offense gives Latt more of a chance to show off his skills.

Refs also hate south carolina

I second this. If Lattimore wants to go to the NFL, ( which I'm sure he does ) he's got a better shot at doing so with Auburn than he does S.C..

Let's see ....... at AU he will be a "Star RB" but ......... won't be expected to "Do It All" by himself !!! At USCe he runs the risk of not getting the help from the O-line he needs to succeed, won't have much quality backup, the offense is pass heavy, Don't know the coach's future if he doesn't have a banter year and we have all seen how some of their fan base can be !!!

The reason he should come to AU is because: D.Mosley, B. Mosley, Gayden, S. Coleman, Christian, C. Slade, E. Mack ... The #1 OL class not including 2 of these guys http://rivals100.rivals.com/TeamRank.asp?sort=0&year=2010&postype=2 .... and o yea we have 4 returning starters on the OL that have pretty  much start since they were freshman

Well I can help clear up the "120 carries for Garcia" question. South Carolina's OL gave up nearly 40 sacks last season, so those sacks count as "carries" for Garcia. On a sidenote, Auburn's OL only gave up about half of that. Not bashing, just stating an "A vs. B" stat.  :we:

Auburn is a FOOTBALL school. Our focus, our passion, our love is for our football team.  South Carolina is a fine school, but they just cannot compare with the excitement and splendor of Auburn football. This IS the big time! Marcus is big time. He wants to be the best, so he needs to run with the best!

Cam Newton's dad gave an interview recently about Cam's college decision and I thought it was pretty insightful (I will try to find a link for everyone, don't worry). To paraphrase, his dad said that he and Cam preferred the relationship that they had with Dan Mullen, but they (Cam and his dad) both realized that at Miss State, Cam would be THE Star and would have to carry his team to every victory. At Auburn, they knew Cam would be a Star, with a cast of Stars surrounding him, where a victory would come from a TEAM effort, instead of an individual effort. And that, ladies and gentlemen (cough cough Marcus), is why Cam chose Auburn.

I am not bashing we are all called to do different things. That being said I live in Columbia, SC and I work out at the Golds Gym here and one of the personal trainers is a former RB that played at USCe. Auburn RB's go to the NFL nuff said.
