He is using a scrolling feature that may not be active on some browsers or may be defeated by some firewalls, like mine.

Prt of my time doing web development is that I must "dumb down" pages for the vast majority of users.

DKW's right. You might want to load the page up in IE, Netscape, Mozilla, and ForeFox. It'll help you see how different browsers can really screw with your page. Also, try both 1024x768 and 800x600 resolutions since they are currently the most popular. (Which sucks for 1600x1200 ppl like me, lol.)

You'll be surprised how much your pages changes between browsers.

hmmm...wonder why it's so screwy in firefox

There are certain languages that different browsers "hate".

The most common would be:

IE hates XHTML

FireFox hates DHTML
