Question? about players signing.....

The way they put it on ESPN was that just signing the financial aid papers allowed him to go to another school if Calipari bolts for the NBA.

Now why not have all other UK players sign that also?  :dunno:

or all the college players period!!!!!!!!!!!! I gotta do some research on this one...... something doesn't seem right!

We don't really want that in large numbers. The school has no control over the player, he can leave and transfer to another school on a whim.

Kentucky agreed to this with a super prospect. If Joe Average had requested this treatment he'd have been laughed out of town.

Expect the NCAA to put a screeching halt on this practice in a hurry. Cousins would have played at UAB last year if they had done this for him, but they didn't.

This has been available for years but very seldom used. Most schools probably back off of a kid if he was to request it. They would in my opinion want a stronger commitment. Just a guess though.

Does it force the student to take student loans at any point?  Or can they still get the full athletic scholarship ride for the year?
