  1. I know. But he said: If it all depends on coaching between AU & uat, we're dead. Well, we lined up and flat beat UAT convincingly. No miracle plays. No five turnover catastrophes by them. And did it with less talent. So this is evidently not the case.
  2. ...which is why we lined up against a team who has had the #1 recruiting class for multiple years running and beat them by 2 TDs this year.
  3. We didn't need another guard. If you want to be upset about OL, be upset at missing on Gouriage. Langham is still in play, but we aren't exactly barren at the DE spot.
  4. Cam Taylor wasn't playing games. Tannor on the other hand...
  5. Yeah, I'm guessing his slot is dependent on what Ross, Chase or Langham do.
  6. He's a good coach and will recruit well for them, but this was more about Florida and Auburn letting up on him than NU stealing him from either.
  7. Keith's take seems to be that there's a lot of talk that Auburn is heating up with regard to Ross but the kid has been very close to the vest so anything is possible. He also doesn't think Bama is out of it.
  8. I'm not seeing several posters calling it a troll. I see a few posters being skeptical, that's about it. We'll see. It's certainly a shock this late in the game.
  9. Jason Caldwell is going to be at Ross' announcement if that helps. And it's more than JLee talking about this.
  10. What's being said is that it's down to Auburn and Clemson....bammer is out of it. But that the confidence level is pretty strong Auburn has gotten him.
  11. Tons of buzz from the Auburn pay site admins that we're about to snag Justyn Ross.
  12. This is what happens when ones views are driven by feelings rather than facts. No matter what you perceive to be true, when you can see concrete evidence that only 6 out of 40 people arrested for shoplifting at an establishment are black, a logically thinking person should reevaluate their belief in light of reality.
  13. I like it, but use the fact that we've snapped it so many times to either get a team to jump offsides, or hike it and throw a pass out of it.
  14. Sherwood is now ranked a 4-star by Rivals and ESPN. He's a 3-star on 247/Scout.
  15. Without digging into the specific arguments yay or nay, I think it's easy to call for settling on the status quo when the status quo is basically what you want already. Would you be as willing to accept the status quo and move on if abortion were illegal or severely limited from what it is now?
  16. You'll actually find that a lot of Catholics fall into this 'no-man's land' politically. They are socially conservative so they are against killing the unborn as a method of birth control, they don't agree with the redefining of marriage to "whatever culture decides it is today." But at the same time they are in favor of things like universal healthcare (even a single payer system), a strong social safety net, paid parental leave after the birth of a child, stricter regulation of Wall Street, and other so-called "Democrat" issues. They are fiscally more liberal and think that government, while not the entirety of the solution to some problems, is a reasonable and effective means of handling many issues. It's the height of arrogance to reject these people because they don't accept an artificial and arbitrary difference in rights based on 4-5 inches of travel down a vagina.
  17. I'm amazed that she of all people is the one to speak common sense to the situation. I've long said that the accusation about conservatives being single issue voters (abortion) was unfair - the other side of the abortion issue is just as dogmatic and "single issue" with their voting. And given how Hillary thumbed her nose at social conservatives in the last election to her own detriment, you'd think the Dems would see an opportunity to drive a wedge between the Trump-apologist wing and the religious conservatives in the GOP. Perez didn't see that. Pelosi apparently does. Good on her.
  18. Ok, last post on this subject then back to Bryant: Look at it this way. They already got 5 of the top 10, and two of the top 10 they didn't get, it was because they already snagged another guy in the same top 10 at that position. To me, that's a wash and just as good as 7 of the top 10 in a literal sense. Just sticking to 7/10 with no regard for positions they play is arbitrary.
  19. But the 4 they did land were 4 of the top 6. And one they missed on (#1 player - a QB who went to Stanford) was replaced by the #5 player whom they have been high on from the get go (Jake Fromm, also a QB). They missed on the #8 player, a safety who signed with Alabama - but that was replaced by the #2 player - also a safety. It's still a lockdown effort. Four of the top six. Two of the top 9 they didn't get, they got other guys in that top 9 at their position.
  20. Yeah, they lost a couple. One was a QB and I'm not sure that position was high on their priority list. But they still cleaned house in state. There's no spinning that otherwise. For comparison's sake, look at Texas. Of the top 20 players in the state of Texas, the Longhorns got one...the #20 ranked guy on the 247 Composite. http://247sports.com/Season/2017-Football/CompositeRecruitRankings?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool&State=TX And they only got four of the top 40. By comparison, Auburn and Alabama combined to take 12 of the top 15 players in Alabama (six each). There's just no comparison. Georgia mopped up.
