  1. Who said anything about liking Finebaum? Stop reaching. It’s an article with some good points in it. That is all.
  2. That isn’t what you quoted in your post though. He didn’t say that “it’s safe to assume that they know what they’re doing”, he compared the hiring decisions of a successful football coach, to the potential hiring decisions of most message board posters. Are you saying that most message board posters have more football knowledge than an actual coach? It seems like you twisted words around so that you could have something to argue against.
  3. No, but it does mean that they have 6 million reasons to get things right. Having skin in the game, and a high-paying job on the line gives people a reason to do their best. More so than any of the posters on a message board. Did anybody but you actually say the words that you have in quotes?
  4. Man, don’t get them riled up again 😂. Maybe they’ll just read the article and realize he isn’t quite as awesome as they’ve been constantly pushing.
  5. Why do people keep saying this about coaches? We don’t even know who our favorite team is pursuing. How do people know who all of the other programs have reached out to? This isn’t the type of thing that is regularly advertised. And even when it is advertised, the information is often wrong.
  6. I don’t think anybody is having any orgasms. Some of us are just excited to see a coach that is excited about recruiting. Can people also wait before saying that he’ll need voodoo to win in the SEC?
  7. Yes, what I said would apply to everybody. Glad that we can agree.
  8. You’ve cited only the data that pushes your narrative. Don’t get surprised when others see through it. Even great coaches have bad seasons. I could cherry-pick and ask you if you know many bad coaches that have beaten Alabama two years in a row. There is no data suggesting that he’ll be terrible at Auburn. War Eagle.
  9. All of our options were questionable in some sense. You do realize that most of the people on this board “talk to lots of Auburn fans” too, right? Just because your bubble thinks one way, doesn’t mean jack.
  10. I see a good coach with great resources, passionate about recruiting, that really wants to be here, and has everything to lose. Until you can teach me how to peer into the future, I’ll just hang on to those positives until he gives me reason not to.
  11. He has obviously well-coached teams, and has done well with less than he’ll hopefully have here at Auburn. He could end up being bad, but your “proof” in the form of expunged wins is laughable. His teams beat the teams that they played against. He coached good games. Me thinking that your cherry-picked data is ridiculous, doesn’t mean that I think Freeze is some type of football god.
  12. We’ve barely even known who our own school is looking at in these coaching searches. How can you expect to have a clue about the rest of the country?
  13. He had a pretty good record for a perennial bottom-feeder in the SEC west. But you’re correct, he had one 5-7 season. What part of “just citing facts” does voodoo fall under?😂
  14. So you’re saying Hugh Freeze is a terrible coach, that would need black magic in order to succeed at Auburn? 😂 Gore-Tex got those new boo-hoo lined raincoats for excess storm clouds.
  15. You wouldn’t deserve to be humbled. You wanted Deion, you had good reasons for it, and that’s ok. This is a passionate time because there is no clear-cut right answer for who our perfect coach should be. And even if Prime is bad at CU, it still doesn’t mean that he’d be bad here at Auburn.
  16. I would’ve been excited about Deion, but this is a 2025 WR. Two years is a long time in the world of recruiting, and it doesn’t take long to flip these kids. That being said, I expect him to get more than a few great players in this years’ class.
  17. And they’re still going with the “unsolicited” angle, after it’s been proven she tagged him in her own tweets first. Is it so hard to report the facts? They’re like, “this was kind of bad, but we need to make it look really bad”. Some ignorant people are just all too eager to eat it up though.
  18. I’ve always had a little bit of a soft spot for Ole Miss after the Zac Etheridge injury, and the way their player handled it. That soft spot is gone.
  19. 2024 is when the expanded playoff starts.
  20. This is much more rational than most of the anti-Freeze posts I’ve been seeing. I can respect that even if I don’t 100% agree with it all.
  21. So you agree that it wasn’t “criminally negligent”. Glad that we could meet in the middle on something. War Eagle. ❤️
  22. So show us the math. Let’s see your work. What’s the value on some bad decision DMs and 20 escort service calls? How much does consistently beating good teams add up to? I had honestly forgotten that he beat Bama twice in two years, until some people started insisting that was the main reason I was ok with the hire.
  23. “Criminally negligent oversight”. Good lord people, if you have to sensationalize something to make it sound worse, then maybe it isn’t that terrible. I’ll agree that the DMs were a bad idea, but there was nothing criminal about any of the ones that we’ve seen.
