What about Amaris Williams? IMO he’d be just as good of a get as McCray. I know there has been a lot of talk from the UF side that it was not a matter of if but when he flips, and Auburn has seemed to be somewhat trending with him. I always thought Coen would be a hard pull. Texas A&M is his legacy and from what I have read the big obstacle is him being so far from home at Auburn. I think Napier is fired mid season. Their schedule next year is absolutely the most brutal I think I have ever seen. This is an article from a UF site and gives some insight into that program and how mismanaged it has been under Napier, specifically with the staff. It’s a complete mess. There is also a lot of chatter DJ Lagway is looking around. Apparently he started following some Texas A&M sites. Our competition for the Vandy WR Sheppard is Texas A&M, Ole Miss, State, USCe, and Minnesota (so far) If we want London Humphreys, which we apparently have reached out to, we will have to fight Georgia for him….he’s a Ladd McConkey type receiver…and his dad is a former AU all American track star. But sure let’s just let them have those two since they are just “Vandy” players.

Yup, Aggies have lost both their top recruiters and there is a lot of talk they are about to have a mass exodus hit the portal. They were hoping to keep ERob on staff to help hold their recruiting class (and team) together. We’ll see if Elko can keep the status quo maintained.

Cowart is the highest ranked recruit Auburn has signed, but he also was the biggest bust. He was in no way the “best pick up” for Auburn, the only thing he did for Auburn was boost the recruiting ranking that year.

There isn’t any buzz for Clemson. At all. He wore Clemson sleeves to a practice, that’s it. That hardly means anything. These kids get all kinds of gear when they visit these schools and yes, a lot of times they wear it. He’s not visited Clemson or even been on their radar for MONTHS. He has not been to Clemson since early in the summer and even then no one ever talked about Clemson being a threat to land him. Some of y’all need to get a script for Xanax to survive the next 20ish days before ENSD.

Not just Freeze….Thorton, Garrett and Aldridge have been fantastic recruiters as well and I don’t think have been given enough credit for what they have done since they got to Auburn. I don’t think Thorton gets enough praise, he’s done a really good job with a hastily pieced together group and he’s bringing in some studs. Ole Miss’s line has also dropped off since he left despite the fact they all cried that he sucked and he “was asked to leave” when he did make the move to Auburn. 😂 Aldridge might be my favorite assistant Freeze hired. He really does seem to be a rising star.

There is a big difference in saying “we are hoping to target someone like X player” etc and telling recruits “we have Y player coming in, already a done deal” ….especially to a recruit who is currently committed to our biggest rival whose coach is known for playing games with Auburn involving recruits. Imagine if Freeze had told them “hey, we have Michael Pratt coming….its already been decided so that is who is going to be throwing the ball to you next year” then RW runs to Saban….you know exactly what he does with that….calls Willie Fritz and here comes the NCAA. My response was in the context that these players have been told something specific or a specific name. Everyone knows they are talking behind the scenes but it’s not something you openly admit.

I would HIGHLY doubt Freeze and the staff is telling uncommitted recruits who he is recruiting from another program since that is a massive NCAA violation to meddle with another program’s players. Coaches can’t talk to those players until they enter the portal. I’m not saying they don’t have some conversations with the player’s “people” but they sure as hell are not telling high school kids about it unless they are insanely stupid.

No, the “inverted” hats are a thing….I just don’t understand it. It’s not just Auburn, you see them with a lot of college teams and pro across different sports.

Coming off a complete dumpster fire if Freeze finishes this season with 7 wins and a top 10 class I would say this staff has been a huge success.
