  1. They are a better team then we saw when Auburn destroyed them, but I still say we win. I don't care how much we win by as long as we win.

As for their coaches comment I think that was more for his players confidence but is great bulletin board material.

As expected, Ole Miss gets up big, then s---ts the bed.

Mark Sears played 40 minutes 26 points 5 boards and 4 assists. Cole how I wish we had him. Add Sears to this current team and we might be best team in the country.

On our team he wouldn't have to play 40 minutes and with Broome, Jaylin, and lately Chaney his assists would sky rocket.

We had a chance to get him coming out of HS Cole told us how good he was, but to be honest he had the numbers but didn't look like he would become this good. He got stronger physically and as we have seen he is fearless.

He is a complete PG great handle, great vision, can score inside or out, and is in control of the offensive flow.

  3. We has 16 Turnovers they had 14 about equal. We shot 45.8% from the floor they shot 50.9% mostly because of Knecht. We were 76% at Free Thow and they were 77.1%. We both made 9 3's but it took us 22 shots and they did it with 17 That is still just under 41% on 3's which is solid. They beat us on the boards 37 to 30. They made 6 more FT's then us and one more basket then us.

Basically we played well enough to win except Knecht was unstoppable when it counted. Yes I thought we had some weak fouls called on us and the Ref's overlooked a few obvious fouls by Tenn., but the reality is because of how hot Knecht was tonight they were the slightly better team.

I am proud of this team.  As well as we played tonight against most teams even with our poor PG play we would have won tonight. You have to give Tenn credit they are very good.

Yes, TN plays good D.  About as good as we do.

Dog fight.  Hope the refs call it fairly.

Everybody complaining about turnovers as we have 9 but other side of coin is Tenn has 9 also. Like i said earlier both teams are playing hard on D. Many turnovets by both teams is because of good D.

  5. These are two good teams. Some of the turnovers is because Tenn plays such tough defense. So far we have played well on D but so has Tenn.

I don't know if we will win this game but we are playing one of the best teams in the country tough at their home court.

We are giving ourselves a chance to win. We need to come out hard at start of second half.

It would have help us/SEC if we had pulled of the win against BAYLOR.  There were other opportunities for the top SEC teams to make a good reference mark against other ranked non-conference teams but failed to do so.

I'm feeling upbeat going into the UT game having watched us play UGA.  I would have never guessed we would have put up 97 on the road.

I love this Auburn team. I hope we can find a way to beat Tenn., but they are one of the best defensive teams we will face and have balanced scoring it will be tough.

  7. This is my opinion but Pearl has mentioned that we need a practice facility as we are currently sharing with volleball, gymnastics, and woman's basketball. Also probably signing with Nike and more NIL.

Pearl loves Auburn but we need to support him so Auburn Basketball can take the next step and become even more elite.

  8. With the road win at Georgia we are still in running for a shot at SEC title. We are one game out and three of next 4 we should win. We need our best game on the road against Tenn. That is a big order but if at beginning of year you had told us we would have a shot with 4 games to go I would have been very happy.

I am proud of the way this team has battled all year.

  9. As mentioned above we have 4 players shooting around 37% from three.  The issue is we are streaky. Shooting hurt us against KY but what hurt more was bad turnovers.

The kind of turnovers that led to easy baskets. We clean that up and it is a close game. We also had players overly hyped trying to do to much. CBM was so up for the game he often played out of control same for Donaldson and others.

We are not a great team but we are better then how we played against KY and we are not as good as we looked against SC.

Sure they used horses in WW1. There was an old retired army guy who worked the parts bin when I was an aircraft mechanic in the Air Force. He had been in the horse cavalry but quite a while after WW1 was over.

Then there's the story of Sergeant Reckless, a bonafide horse-hero of the Korean war. https://www.thewarhorsememorial.org/100-hero-horses/22-sergeant-reckless

I knew nothing about that. To steal a line from our youth. "That was Super Cool"

back on subject of dylan i am sharing this i swiped from a fellow on the rant. i just want to send him some love.

Not sure I have ever seen a player improve from one season to the next as much as Dylan Cardwell has this year. He missed every free throw attempted from mid-December until mid-March last season and finished shooting 31.8% from the line. This year, he is hitting them at nearly 70% and looks confident stepping up to the line. Last year, him getting fouled was a turnover and this year it's points every time. He's hitting open shooters after rebounds instead of panicking and turning the ball over. You can tell he has really put in a ton of work to improve his game and it's great to seem him have such a positive impact this year.

i think if he gets another year he gets better.

I agree now he needs to add some post scoring other then dunking on a cut or rebound. He needs a drop step, or turn around jumper, or a hook shot that he can score with consistently. He also needs to cut down on needless fouls. The way he has improved so far gives me hope he will be better next year.

I didn't like the flagrant on Cardwell.  He's a huge, powerful, clumsy player who can't adjust during a move.  He does not have a much control as smaller, lighter players do.  Caldwell's hand slid off the ball, USC's player's arms, and landed on the guy's shoulder.  It just happens when a guy built like a giant NFL offensive lineman plays basketball.

It doesn't matter if it was intentional. It wasn't as could be seen by Cardwell apologizing and helping player up. That said by rule it was a flagrant 1 foul. I had no pro lem with the call.
