Bad TO by KD and once again the refs are inconsistent and of course most of the calls go against AU.

You can apply hindsight to recruiting every year. Fact is, CHF flipped this roster last year by committing to the portal. Now everyone is on him about "losing" in the portal when he's been committed to HS recruiting. That was my only point. AU fans are super fickle.

It's not money and he doesn't WANT to leave AU. There's something else that is going on. I can only speculate that it validates either toxicity amongst some players/coaches, rumors of coaches leaving, or some combination of both. If it's coaches leaving, I think he is using the portal as a backup plan. What I hope I don't see anymore of though is people dogging him because of the decision to enter the portal (I haven't seen it here, but other platforms).

I don't recall him stating he doesn't WANT to call plays? I do recall him saying that it was a first for him.

Weird because only a year ago people were saying he had one of, if not the best transfer portal classes.

@japantiger, you facepalmed my response to you but no response from you was given. Just curious what exactly is your stance on this and why?

CHF got hired because of the product he has put on the field. He went away from doing what he's done that ultimately got him here (call plays). Then, for the first time ever, he hires someone else to call the plays and what do you know..., all the sudden, the product he put on the field does not look reminiscent of any CHF product I can remember. His job is to win football games. He can do that by continuing to do what he's always done which includes calling plays.

So who fits that mold to bring in? Because if it's Derrick Nix, he's never coached QBs either. Ever since I saw Matt Luke watching a game from Auburn's sideline this year, I wanted him to replace Montgomery. When he was announced at Clemson I felt like Hugh missed an opportunity.

Since Luke got hired at Clemson a month or two ago, I don't see this happening.

All the talking heads/podcasts are pointing to him. I don't know where it's coming from.

I heard he's on the chopping block, but I don't believe these things until they happen honestly. I think the defense under Roberts with better talent and another year will be better. Starting over doesn't necessarily seem smart.

FWIW, Josh Pate said to keep an eye on AU for him about an hour ago.

Grunkemeyer is not impressive at all in this game. Seems to favor the left side of the field. To be fair though, he hasn't had a lot of time to throw the ball.
