  1. Updykes blowing up over this one, calling the kid a “liar”. Lets see...Evans, Foster, Kouandjio, Yeldon, Calloway, etc, etc were all guys with great integrity when it came to NSD. I’m believing today is the beginning of that ridiculous run of them getting every guy they ever wanted to the point of forcing out 4*’s and having others agree to greyshirt.
  2. Safety. This kid is going to be easy to pull for...assuming the medical condition made it difficult to get an accurate evaluation. Epileptic high school athlete at center of cannibis oil debate WARNER ROBINS, Ga. - A high school athlete is at the center of a cannabis oil debate. He is one of 1,700 patients to sign up throughout the state for medical marijuana, but his high school says he can't bring it on campus. Channel 2’s Rikki Klaus spoke with CJ Harris, who is currently traveling with the Warner Robins High School basketball team. He played at Lambert High in Suwannee over the weekend. His family credits medical cannabis oil for keeping CJ seizure-free the last several months. "It's hard because you don't know if this is your last breath your child is taking. You just don't know," father Curtis Harris told Klaus. Harris said he couldn't be more proud of his 17-year-old son, CJ. Klaus looked on as the Warner Robins High School basketball player hit the court in Gwinnett County over the weekend. But epilepsy kept stealing CJ's thunder, and his prescription pills weren't working. "I wake up every morning and I pray, ‘Please don't let nothing happen today. Please don't let nothing happen today,’" CJ told Klaus. Harris said his son has had about 15 seizures, and hit his head half a dozen times. CJ’s last seizure was in early January. In mid-January, CJ started taking medical cannabis oil, legal in the state of Georgia for two years now. Harris said it's worked, so far. "He's going from having two seizures a month or one seizure a month, and now he hasn't had any? That's like, wow," Harris said. But CJ has had to miss class, just so he can take his noon dose. View image on Twitter The medicine is forbidden on his campus. It violates federal law. For Harris and his son, it's a huge inconvenience. "So I've got to come pick him up every day, check him out of school, bring him to the house," Harris said. Klaus contacted the Houston County Board of Education, which sent her a statement that reads, in part: "Per the Safe and Drug Free Schools federal law, the oil may not be brought onto school grounds." State Rep. Allen Peake, who is responsible for advocating for and ushering in Georgia's medical marijuana program, said cases like this are going to become more and more common, since state law conflicts with federal law. "CJ's case is not going to be isolated. There are kids all over the state who are going to be facing the same issue, particularly now that autism is added to the list of qualifying conditions," Peake told Klaus. Harris said the medicine was allowed at his son's old school, a private school in Macon. He wants that same freedom for CJ at Warner Robins. Peake said school administrators need to get courageous, do what's best for the students and allow cannabis oil on campus.
  3. What is a quiet period? During a quiet period, a college coach may only have face-to-face contact with college-bound student-athletes or their parents on the college’s campus. A coach may not watch student-athletes compete (unless a competition occurs on the college’s campus) or visit their high schools. Coaches may write or telephone college-bound student-athletes or their parents during this time. Keep 'em coming.....http://www.ncaa.org/student-athletes/resources/recruiting-calendars

  5. Kid can fly, will be a big addition to the outfield if he can hit SEC pitching. Father is the D line coach and assistant baseball coach at his high school...family apparently lived in Auburn for three years.
  6. No (you're not crazy). But....every kid is potentially a project, if you know what I mean. You can sign a #1 overall, can't miss, sure fire stud and still miss. We had one leave the program mid-year. That's one of the reasons, in spite of what the Updykes want, they don't actually give one effing thing for signing a great class. The coaches actually have to coach and the kids have to put in the work and go out and earn it. It's one of the things that makes college athletics so great. and makes us all crazy. So check that, yeah you're crazy.
  7. Their offensive line is as thin as a cheap shirt. Looks like they will have to start the three freshmen due to injuries. Guice is also not healthy either. I see Steele forcing Matt Canada to put the game on Etling and that is not something that will work out well for them. I believe our defense gives up less than 10 points this weekend, gets back in the 5+ sacks range and allows significantly less than 100 yards rushing. Their defensive front is susceptible to being pushed around...looking for this to be the game we see our O line establish themselves and we go for over 300 on the ground. This has the makings to be a historic loss for LSU in Death Valley. 45-9 good guys.
  8. I am well aware...the Engram kid grew up down the street, saw a lot of him and Kenyan Drake when they were at Hillgrove High School. The vision for the flexed TE is the same...Google both and you'll quickly see "matchup nightmare". I guess one is real and one is imagined, which as you point out is a huge difference.
  9. Ole Miss perfected the blueprint with Evan Engram.
  10. I'm thinking there's room on this board for both yours and dmoney's analysis. Both are spot on I'm not sure there's a coordinator out there that I enjoy seeing his nose rubbed in it like Grantham. We out-gained their entire offensive production on seven plays alone. Pretty sure Louisville doesn't miss that guy.
  11. Yes. In man the RB has to have great field vision to find the hole and in zone he has to be more specific with his vision and trust his read. The change is terribly disruptive to the OL as well. Their communication/intuition takes a long time to develop. It has been noted that some backs never get comfortable in the system while others thrive. Obviously Terrel Davis benefited greatly while Darren McFadden not so much. Our O-line has been beat up weekly for the lack of run production, but as Coach notes they have consistently gotten better with repetition and will continue to. This is one area that I have great confidence we don't need to panic. They should be a well oiled machine by the time they face the two better run stopping defenses in the conference. LSU is not one of those teams.
  12. I saw quite possibly the worst officiating crew in the SEC in a long time. Those guys were throwing flags and waving them off like I've never seen. Jeff Holland has OT's spooked, was the cause of 5 or 6 false starts. Offensive line absolutely stonewalled MSU's defensive front on Stidham's long throw from our end zone. He had all the time to wait on the receiver...almost waited too long to get it there.
  13. Tre' Williams is obviously a stud. Defensive front was just outstanding. Can't remember hearing Tray Matthews name called much if at all...DL and LB's kept him out of the action. This defense will keep us in every game, will certainly get their oil checked next week.
  14. Wouldn't mind if the rain shows up again this afternoon and pushes this game to Thursday.
  15. He happened to coach with the biggest sleezeball in the history of high school football. As my wife often says "just because I stand in the garage, that doesn't make me a car". Just had to dig one out from the glorious past, I don't apologize if it offends anyone. If he was beloved by 43, that's plenty enough for me to give him the benefit of the doubt. This from a thread from Lindsey's first time here (actually makes me smile real big) .... Lutz has high praise for the guy.
  16. This is excellent opinion/analysis. I think many will be shocked (maybe not to the level of Arkansas) as to the outcome. We very well may see a half dozen or more sacks and two or three picks. Our defense is due for another "fun" game.
  17. Coach, your insight is appreciated. I too am concerned about the running game and I'm curious to know if you think these guys can get significantly better. I don't remember if it was you or Eagle 5 that said it looked like Hand might not have even been on the practice field more than a handful of times prior to Clemson. I'm hoping what we saw from Pettway is the beginning of a great running back, but I don't believe he can create yards that aren't there (a la Rudi Johnon). Are we going to be okay there against the Ole Miss, LSU and other D lines?
  18. 1. Because they are all class. - exhibit A:
  19. While that was truly a great team, my first orange and blue love was the one from a decade earlier. I started school on the plains as a seventeen year old babe that fall. Finished the season fishing my brother out of Orleans Parish central lockup after the 9-7 win at the Sugar Bowl. Shoulda' won the MNC that year also.
