  1. Bartender, I’ll have a double of what SaltyTiger is having. Don’t know if it will have the same effect but it is obviously some good stuff….
  2. A little sustained success would do wonders. *So*many negatives AU has been battling the past two years: a new coach with (supposedly) poor relational skills and no regional ties, COVID recruiting that made recruiting much harder for a new staff, a losing streak that was a combination of bad luck/injuries/questionable coaching, and finally an off-season drama that only Auburn could manufacture. The recruiting struggles are hardly surprising at this point. It just feels like if we could break out of the gate fast and catch some breaks we could really turn a corner…..on the other hand, it could go way south really quickly….it seems like the program is on a knifes edge right now. Or, to sum it up, typical Auburn football
  3. Man, if we could somehow get the OL right after several years of scraping by with transfers and JUCO (looks like that’s our best chance for numbers again this year), we might finally see a balanced, well-managed roster
  4. Nice, succinct response to DB provocation. Well played sir….
  5. Tank is obviously “The Man” this year but I love what Hunter showed last year…..yes, running the ball but also catching it out of the backfield where he had some huge plays that ypc don’t reflect. A better run-blocking line and JH numbers immediately look considerably better last year as do Tank’s- they mostly fought like hell for every yard they gained. I also think that Alston is underrated and can be a stud in his own right. I think the trio gives us the best quality depth at the position that we’ve had for quite some time
  6. Burrow especially. I remember thinking when LSU named him their starter:”LOL”. Well, we see how that turned out; beat us the first year then became the world beater and NFL draft first pick that everyone now knows
  7. You’ve mentioned it before but Jason Campbell is the best example (relatively) recently. Showed flashes for a couple of years then with the experience (and the right coach and system) was an absolute machine as a senior; the dimes he dropped all game on UTk in the first game in 2004 left my jaw on the floor. If we had a line that I had confidence would give TJ a clean pocket and a decent run game I would feel just fine going in to the season. But, that’s the rub….. for the foreseeable future…
  8. Love PF. Especially love Gilmour and his talent as a guitarist and songwriter-he wrote most of my favorite PF songs I think. Thanks for the share- have never heard a version of “Young Lust” except the version from “The Wall”
  9. You are probably, maybe, in that group. 😝 Really Todd 🤨?
  10. I don’t care who the coach is, the inability to sign a reasonable OL class for 7-8 straight years is just mind-boggling. The fact that this is carrying over from one coaching regime to another is really hard for me to understand. Just one good class of 4-5 guys that stick and contribute (of the non-LS variety)would sure be nice….
  11. Great to see a post from you….even a monosyllabic one, lol. I type this knowing a ban from @augolf1716is a possibility (50/50 you might say).
  12. I think a big time OL is different but I hear what you’re saying
  13. A really good OL, committed early and recruiting hard for AU. Can’t really remember the last time we had that combination…..
  14. Man, Joiner feels like such an important piece of this class on multiple levels. Maybe the most important recruit we’ve had in a few years honestly……
  15. Love STP. DeLeo brothers both super talented. Have to admit "Vasoline" is my favorite song but I absolutely wore out both "Core" and "Purple". Such a shame that Weiland could never get a handle on things.....
  16. Listening to some Jackson Browne recently and reminded of what a great singer/songwriter he has been for a long time. Glenn Frey credited him with teaching them (The Eagles) what they needed to know about the songwriting craft to be successful. Found this version of two of my favorites from him- really like the simple/solo/acoustic arrangement. Keep in mind that he wrote “These Days” when he was 16 years old:
  17. Go hang out in the Recruiting Forum for awhile. That will get you in the right frame of mind
  18. Managed to score a pair of tickets. Have listened to the album couple of times;agree, very RadioHead-y. Looking forward to the show. Saw RadioHead way back after “The Bends” when they opened for REM-great show….
  19. However this thread progresses…… The Dude abides
  20. DeLucia pitched a great game no doubt. But man we made it easier on him than it should have been. I bet we took 20 first pitch strikes, a lot of them very hittable pitches (or at least good enough to have a go at). Didn’t seem to adjust our approach at the plate at all. Oh well…I’m proud of the Tigers and what they’ve accomplished so far. Really hoping they can put a good performance together against Stanford, win or lose. Still crazy to me that the OM fans were (maybe still are?) wanting to run Bianco off
  21. I will have a second girl starting at Oxford in the fall. Love the town, wouldn’t mind settling over there (it reminds me of Auburn before Auburn started exploding and losing some of its charm), but the experience in The Grove last year was horrible. Maybe I’m just getting old and less tolerant of that stuff but the amount of alcohol consumption and level of drunkenness on display was shocking. I love a good beer or cocktail as much as the next guy but geez….
  22. If he ends up in jail on the child pornography charges he’ll wish he had gone because of the prior charges….
  23. I know that we’ve had some Radiohead talk in here. Found this video the other day researching guys known for playing Telecasters- Johnny Greenwood is one. Love this arrangement of this song, much more so than the album version. Two really talented guys. Considering trying to see Thom and Johnny with their new project at Ryman when they come. Anyway….
