Yeah I mean I think you have to take all info on stuff like this with a grain of salt. At the end of the day it’s an 18 year and and his family making a decision. But we are also talking about pay sites where there are writers who are expected to give their opinion. Until any player signs the dotted line, that’s all they are, opinions. Up to the reader/consumer to do what they want with that information. I think it’s fun.

No one ever knows for sure, but the people who generally know the most seem to feel that Auburn is out of the running based on the best information they have. But yeah, anything can happen.

I’m not questioning how good a prospect Bolden is. He has Patrick Peterson-like athleticism. To your point, our own staff have prioritized KJ. I’m just not sleeping on Patterson, who has also earned a fifth star and is widely regarded as one of the top safety prospects in the country. You are looking at two players who could potentially both be first/second team all SEC/ACC safeties.

Maybe. I just don’t see Patterson as a consolation. Both have a chance to be impact players in this league.

Personally, I think Patterson would be a better than “good” addition. Kid is a stud.

Patterson is one hell of a player. Wouldn’t even consider it a loss if we lose on Bolden and pick him up. Both are elite.

True, but as we know, a lot can change between now and Saturday. Assuming Georgia wasn't in his top two after this weekend, they aren't going down without a fight. That's all I'm saying.

I don't read the tea leaves as there being a lack of confidence, but FSU is Bolden's dream school and he also has strong connections there. That, and I wouldn't ever count Kirby out on a big time recruit that he wants. Our staff has clearly proven at this point that it can win these battles, and from all accounts Auburn is in a great position. I just think it's going to come down to the wire, and I won't be surprised if he picks Auburn, Florida State, or Georgia.

I believe all of this is true. We also know that a lot can happen between now and Saturday, and we know Auburn isn't the only school he likes. Personally, I think Auburn fans need to tread lightly with this one.

This Cam Coleman situation just reminds me of tough of a business SEC football is. I'm aware of the expectations and how much these coaches are getting paid, but it's more difficult than ever to close on elite talent, especially with how much money is being thrown around with NIL.
