  1. Could be why the strength and conditioning coach got canned too
  2. And Hugh Freeze lost to New Mexico State 49-14 today
  3. Yep. Lost a close one in L.A. to the Trojans, lost the heart breaker in O.T. at the Swamp, and lost the heartbreaker to UGA on the 4th and 15 David Greene pass (pretty sure they dropped an INT earlier in that drive). The only team that dominated them was Arkansas in Tubby’s annual totally unprepared to play game.
  4. Kirby Smart has the potential to be at the top for a long time. Saban’s program hasn’t been the same since he left
  5. I believe a lot of the game will hinge on how well our Tigers handle the early emotions of the game and how they handle the atmosphere. Bama fans are notorious for being loud early and quiet late. They MUST have some early success running the ball and it would be great if they could dial up something tricky early to get a big play under their belts. The defense MUST stop the run or they will have no chance. I think they can win their fair share of battles against Bama’s wideouts. If they can keep it within range or even going to the 2nd half who knows what can happen.
  6. Ugh. 2011. Oklahoma State crapped the bed!
  7. If I remember correctly 2000 was miserable with sleet mixed in with the rain
  8. 2015 they would not have even played for the SEC Championship if Ole Miss hadn’t given up that crazy 4th down over the head fumble toss to Arkansas.
  9. It would be another example of a Saban team backing into a BCS or playoff because other teams couldn’t seal the deal.
  10. I don’t know if I would quite say that. Bama still can get in that playoff if the right things happen
  11. Losing 49-0 to Texas doesn’t sit well with people in Norman
  12. Jill Arrington! One of my all-time favorites! 🔥🔥🔥
  13. The 2002 team could throw the ball decently. Unfortunately the 2022 cannot.
  14. If Kiffin is the guy might he possibly be able to convince Lebby that Oklahoma is a sinking ship under Venables and nab him as OC? That is if Lebby doesn’t get a HC position somewhere.
  15. Not necessarily. Malzahn runs a TON of split zone concepts. His offensive downfall was when he decided not to recruit O Linemen. 2013, 2014, and 2017 were good years because they had some talented, and NASTY, O Linemen.
  16. I agree. I think it’s a little much to expect a victory, but I KNOW these guys will go to Tuscaloosa and not flinch. They will stare them eye-to-eye and never back down. Who knows what might happen if the cards fall right?
  17. I feel like that team would have found a way to beat USC. They damn sure would have been a better matchup for them than the garbage Big Game Bob and the Sooners put on the field that night.
  18. How about some Tommie Agee, Tony Richardson, or Reid McMillon?
  19. I’m going to agree that Cadillac is not ready to be a head coach. I really want to say this, though. The energy he brought to the team and the guts that he coached with had me excited and ready to suit up and play myself. It was so much better than trying to watch Herman Muenster, I mean Bryan Harsin, operate over there. Coach Williams is definitely true blue Auburn to the core, and has been from the day he stepped on campus in 2001. I truly believe our Tigers will win these next two games, and I really believe with the improvement will roll in to Tuscaloosa and put up a fight that we will all be proud of. I think it’s a tall order to ask for a win there, but I think they will stare the Tide eye to eye and not fear them because their head coach will exhibit the same characteristics. I hope he gets to stay on staff with the next coach.
  20. This is an interesting topic. I have a poster set that I use when teaching about different forms of government in my Civics classes (I am on my planning period right now, BTW). One of the forms we discuss is Oligarchy. The definition is “power lies with a small number of people based on royalty, WEALTH, family ties, education, CORPORATE, or military ties.” The posters have examples of these types of governments and one of the examples of Oligarchy is most of our colleges and universities. I have actually made the comment to my students to really read about the “behind the scenes” events the next time there’s a high profile football job open in the South and see if it doesn’t sound a lot like that.
