I’m sure we will. I would love to see us go back to having one of them on the road and one at home each year while playing both games in November.

I do miss the Florida and Tennessee rivalries. I am going to say it like someone else did though. If you had to choose between those two for a recruiting advantage you definitely go with Florida. High school football in Tennessee is 💩.

I’m going to say his connection with Jerraud Powers probably played a huge role in him getting that job. Powers is a Decatur grad.

They definitely do. It’s just kind of a matter of convenience. Newbern’s is a must shorter drive for me and it’s dang good too!

I live in Lauderdale. Been through Bethel many a time heading up to the state line on a Sunday evening before you could buy beer down here on Sundays. Eaten a few times at the Fish Creel in Anderson. Biggest frog legs I’ve ever seen!

No doubt about it! I’m from that area, but from out in the country. Still love some Bunyan’s though!

I understand what you are saying. I was referring more to how things are done in the more modern expanded conference world. My generation is less in tune with the Tech series. I was 7 years old when the series ended and just really getting interested in AU football. They have only played twice since that 87 game.

I personally despised the 2005 Brandon Cox 4 int game that ended the 15 game winning streak. Without that loss the the winning streak easily could have reached 20.

I really feel like there will be a noticeable improvement this fall. I’m looking for the team to be competitive and in every game they play. They get the two big rivalry games at home. They need to be ultra-competitive in both those games. It would be great for recruiting purposes if they could win one of those games. I really believe Bama will be a very winnable game. Not sure what to expect from UGA yet, but surely there will be some drop off. Also, they need to beat both of the Mississippi schools.

Really the only out of conference annual games played are with teams who have in- state opponents. UGA-Tech, Florida-FSU, S Carolina-Clemson, Kentucky-Louisville, etc.

I didn’t experience the 70s (I was born in 1980), but experiencing AU football as a youth in the 80s was amazing! It was a great time to be born into the Auburn world. My early heroes were Burger, Slack, Tillman, Rocker, Stallworth, Danley, Joseph, Ace Wright, Crain, Cheatham, Morris, and others!!! Unbelievable times!!

James Bostic should have stayed for the 94 season

I know we’ve seen this before, but I just don’t see Bama being that great with all of their losses (including 2 new coordinators most likely). I think they lose at least 2 again and one of those may be very likely at JHS.
