  1. Just a reminder that we could have hired him instead of Gus. OUCH!
  2. I know we have our nip watch in the fall, but I’m not quite sure what to call what is coming at the end of the week. Forecast here in the Shoals is for 5 degrees with a wind chill of-15 on Friday morning with a high temperature on the day of about 17 for the day! It warms up on Saturday to a balmy 23 degrees! 🌬️🧊🥶
  3. Stacy Danley was such a tough player!! This was not the only game he got KO’d in and came back later. In the 88 Iron Bowl he got knocked out by Spencer Hammond and came back later and had a huge run on the drive that sealed the game! They don’t make em like ole Stacy anymore.
  4. Ahh Hazelwood. Man, there was some talent that rolled through the old Town Creek school back in the day!
  5. Brooks Lion here. My wife is a Coffee Yellow Jacket.
  6. People who didn’t grow up in the Shoals have no idea what a hidden gem it is.
  7. A lot of folks don’t remember, but Kurt Crain was a transfer. I believe he played at Memphis before he came to Auburn.
  8. I think one of his finest moments was leading the drive to beat Bama in 1986. The 4th Down throw he made to Trey Gainous was put in the only spot he could put it in and he did it with bullets flying all around him.
  9. My first Auburn game!! I had just turned 8 years old. He KO’d Reggie Cobb! Tigers won 38-6! I still have the ticket stub somewhere.
  10. I’m from a town just a few miles to the east of Florence and an alum of UNA. It’s great to see new blood being brought into that program. It has been needed for quite some time.
  11. You are definitely on to something there. I was referring to Burger loving to drink and fight.
  12. If memory serves me correctly that was the tornado warning game. They played right through it!!
  13. You could go with Jeff Burger. He would be our version of Kenny Stabler
  14. Also, don’t lose to the damn Mississippi schools!
  15. Having said all that I certainly want to see him upgrade the talent way above the current level, but also to play with a passion, desire, intensity, and toughness that we have grown accustomed to seeing from teams in the past. If we lose to a highly ranked team it needs to be comparable to an 81 Tennessee game or 82 UGA game or something like that.
  16. I believe two of those are certainly possible. 8-4 and beating Bama. We get them at home where we have beaten them 3 of the last 4 and the one loss went to 4 overtimes. I think Bama could be down more next year than this year.
  17. One thing that would be massively impressive would be if he gets down there to Saraland and flips that AU legacy WR they have away from Saban.
  18. I was 9 years old, but one thing I remember vividly was that Reggie Slack torches them early and then Stacy Danley absolutely imposed his Will on them late in the 3rd quarter and into the 4th quarter.
  19. Maybe he only used 10 when he hired Leach. Surely by now he has added “has never been involved in a controversy for locking a player in a dark closet by himself.”
  20. A&M would be the only school that might fire the HC, but are they going to since he knocked off LSU when he had most of his weapons finally on the field at the same time? Could Mississippi State be looking to move on from Leach with a new AD in town?

  22. I thought offensively the scheme wasn’t bad at all. Creativity helped run for almost 300 yards against a solid run defense. The defensive scheme was poo poo.
  23. The talent gap between Auburn and Bama is MASSIVE right now, but one thing you can say is this bunch of guys never give up. Robby Ashford is a doggone competitor!
  24. The offensive coaches have been very creative since they took over after the Harsin firing
