  1. Looking forward to it. Not sure (other than entertainment) what you are wanting to do, but hoping you can mix in some of your stats info (that is so helpful and useful to us) as part of the videos.
  2. My thought exactly - worried I'll see pictures of dead fish floating in their lake. Clemson is often referred to as Auburn with a lake, so....
  3. Thanks, WarTiger. Good explanation on both.
  4. War Tiger, High school situation - Team A has 4th and is punting, kick is made but there is a foul against receiving team. So, thinking PSK issues, if foul is before receiving team possesses the ball, is it not PSK and penalty assessed from previous spot, goes back to kicking team and replay the down (unless penalty yardage results in first down)? If penalty is after possession, then still receiving team ball and penalty assessed from spot of foul. Is that correct?
  5. WarTiger, I get the fair catch rule and the delay for trying to advance the ball once a fair catch is signaled. What I don't understand is why is the penalty accessed at the fair catch spot (where the kick ended once the muff was recovered) under the new rule? I understand it from before when there was no yardage awarded on a kick-off that is fair caught in field of play, but under the new rule, to me it seems that once the fair catch is completed, the ball is spotted at the 25 and then the penalty assessed to move it back to the 20. So you are saying that advancing a fair catch is a spot foul at the point of possession? (Which would has been in the past on punt).
  6. WarTiger, In the above example, did they flag it as illegal touching and mark off any penalty distance? That would really have been bad if not corrected.
  7. WarTiger, Thanks for doing this thread again this year. Always proves useful and good conversation/information. Have you heard of any rule changes (NCAA) for this year?
  8. Great idea and I like the format. I assume it will update and older items moved off when necessary and such. God quick hitter though. Thanks for doing this.
  9. Exactly. One year with Gus, then went on to USM and ASU and developed his offense, probably with some items he learned from Gus and ideas from other coaches. he then turned that into successful QBs and offenses. Does he run something that fits what Gus wants (HUNH, Power run spread), sounds like it is enough of what Gus has recruited for with some possible additions. Which is what we needed. Lashlee only was under Gus, other than one year at Samford. So he couldn't really bring something new/different, just what he learned under Gus. I think Gus has evolved enough as a HC to bring in a guy that matches his system and players to build on what we already have. In the end, production will be defining factor. If Gus and his Coaches don't produce, they will be gone. call me a pumper, but I am looking for reservations at the playoff finals for next year.
  10. Okay, the RPI has us finishing 11-7 in the SEC, but did they have us 10-2 in the preseason? Probably not. So my hope is that we are better than 11-7 in conference play and it begins Thursday night by beating the dawgs!
  11. Good read, puts a better perspective on a 4-3 team that will be tough for our boys. Looking forward to the game, but will have to listen as I dont have the TV connection.
  12. Stat, you usually have great info in all your posts and I look forward to your numbers based analysis. However, I have one bone to pick with you on this analysis: UNFORTUNATELY, YOU ARE NOT IN THE POSITION TO DELIVER IT GUS AND MAKE IT THE MANDATE IT SHOULD BE! I am a Gus fan, like him as the coach of our team, but your points are spot on and I want him to succeed but he needs to do on offense what he did with the defense - bring in the best he can get to make improvements. If he can do that, Gus could stay for awhile.
  13. Good notes, way too early to give up on this team. One loss does not kill us. We needed a loss to learn from, better it be early from a quality team than later and lead to overconfidence. Did not see the game, so glad to know it was not size inside that hurt us as tht has been my concern through the first couple of games - we rely too much on the three and not working inside. We have to be able to hold our own inside in the SEC.
  14. The issue is D Davis lowered his head and lead with the crown of his helmet. Had he kept his head up, it would not have been targeting, possibly still a penalty for late hit but the targeting was for leading with the crown of his helmet and to me, that is clearly what he did.
  15. Bingo - I think we prove early we can run on Vandy and our defense can hold them. We use Vandy to work on passing game, we need it later.
  16. Guess we will see how those stats stand up after this weekend when Vandy faces a more quality offense...!
  17. Doc, I agree - I love for bammer to be undefeated when we beat them, makes the win so much better. The way several previously undefeated teams lost this weekend opens the door for us if we can get to the SEC championship and win there. That should be enough to get us in the playoffs with our strength of schedule. But let's get Vandy first.
  18. I have been a Gus fan from the start. But Saturday night was the first time I really questioned what was going on. Although I don't like it, I can kind of understand giving each QB an opportunity to perform. But you can't do goofy/gimmick plays with one and compare that to straight plays. I felt the play calling for JJ was the right plays, but the ones for SW and JFIII at the start were too gimmicky. Then JJ had some success (good for him) and moved the team but on the next serious he returned to the JJ of last year. I think (HOPE) we have seen the last of JJ at QB. (I could give examples but dont wntto bash the player). I know several say we were in the game and had a chance to win last drive (true), BUT with better offensive play calling and more importantly, keeping one consistent starting QB in the game, I think we could have been in the lead, instead of chasing it (or at least where LEGATRON could have won it for us. I will admit I am one of those who said what I expect based on SW getting us 20 to 20 last year, expect to see JFIII in inside the red zone and JJ in when we are close(7-yards, short yardage to gain). And that is what we got and it failed. Sorry I said, Gus must have read and thought I knew more than him (just kidding). Finally, with what I saw, I still think we can win several games this year. I expect the talking heads to call for a 6-win season, I still think we are in the 8 to 10 wins.
  19. Not sure what the old app is/was and have not yet dowloaded tis new app, but I have been using an AU Gameday app by SportsLabs and it is still working and gives me all the AU sports (Mens and Womens) and has been for some time. I will try to download this new one as well to see which I prefer. Okay, got the new one downloaded but ina quick look, I like my AU GameDay by SportsLabs better. All sports are visible (although not playing right now) and I can get scores of Top 25 and SEC games that I can't get on this new app. I must not have had the old app as my Gameday one is still working (just checked the Tenn and USCe scores on it).
  20. guess i need to post to find out my post count and if I am verified member
  21. So combine this with your other post, does that mean we use Sean White and Jovon R until the red zone and then bring in Jeremy Johnson in the red zone? And use JFIII to mix it up in either situation? Just kidding, prefer one regular all the way but would be interesting since JJ has a bit more running threat which helps in the red zone.
  22. StatTiger, Thanks and great info as usual. I had high hopes for Jeremy, but unless he has made huge strides to overcome last year's problem, this does seem to indicate that a healthy White and Robinson in the game together should give us great opportunity to game the yardage on first down via run or pass that this offense needs. I know many are hoping for JFIII to come in and save the game, but I think him at wildcat will be great but the steady will SW and JR.
  23. I am decidedly an Auburn fan. And those who know me and those around can see it. I wear Auburn eyeglass straps, I have an Auburn belt and wear Auburn shirt/hat as often as I can (although not at work as much as I would prefer). But I also drive a very distinctive truck. It is an ’85 pickup, so last year I decided to deck it out in Auburn colors. I painted the hood orange with a big block interlocking AU in blue on the orange hood. I have an AU tag on front, several magnets/stickers for AU, WAR EAGLE painted on the tailgate, AU floormats, and an AU steering wheel cover. Needless to say, you can tell I am an Auburn fan. So why do the bammers have to see me and say “roll tide”? When I see a bama fan, I don’t shout War Eagle at them (they ain’t worth it), but if they want to be a bama fan I let them. It just irks me that they feel like it insults me for them to yell roll tide because I am an Auburn fan. I realize that if I am going to wear it out there like that, I would get some flack about it. So I get that. It is just their condescending tone and attitude like “how dare you be an Auburn fan and flaunt it in such manner” – only bamzo’s can do that. But those are the bammer fans that I don’t care for.
