Look at who he’s chasing in recruiting. The man just can’t be in two places at the same time. Not that I don’t totally get what you’re saying, but 2 to 3 years from now, I don’t think anyone will mind. Again, I totally get what you’re saying, but it is, what it is. As far as this season goes: I’m as disappointed as anyone at the way the offense is being handled, but I believe I predicted 9 or 8 wins, and we still have a shot at that. I just can’t help but be super excited about recruiting. As far as these five stars and upper level four stars go, there’s kids have had years of relationships with other programs and other coaches and suddenly they’re committing to Auburn. Can you imagine once Freeze has years of relationships with recruits?

If it matters to anyone, in current 2024 recruiting, we are currently number 17 in the nation with several slots to fill yet (so we should move up) and we have 2 five stars. Only teams in the country right now, with more than 2 five stars are Georgia, Ohio State and Florida State. (notice I didn’t say the turds) According to ON3, we have an excellent shot at flipping two more five stars and another four star commit is expected within days. Also, according to 247, in the way too early 2025 recruiting class, we are currently number four in the nation! Number four in the nation with several four stars, and five stars in the 2025 class expressing interest. So the future looks bright! Freeze will get it done! And yes, some of the current play-calling has been absolutely atrocious! We can have both: 1. A current system Freeze is not used to running, where he has to spend more time recruiting than he ever has in his entire life, which has led to ridiculous play-calling and other issues. 2. A very bright future!

This isn’t an an open slam or an invitation for a debate or argument, but I don’t think Deion is as popular with school administrators, boosters and even recruits as he is with the mainstream media. The reason I bring up the SNL skit is to say: the college football nation is making fun of the guy. Freeze will get at least three years if not more. You see where we are in 2014 recruiting. For 2015 recruiting we got two more four-star commits this week. (I believe they’re both four-stars) I think if Freeze would have got his Coastal Carolina quarterback, (which he wanted and planned on getting) we could be a little better. (Like probably two wins better at this point?) At this point both PT and RA are playing worse than anyone thought. Wide receivers are also playing worse than anyone thought. Is this coaching? If so, we will find out next season and season after next. The offensive game plan, the play-calling and the flat out weird way we are handling the two quarterback system ultimately falls on Freeze but he made it clear, he’s turning most everything over to Montgomery. I wish I had more answers myself, but Freeze got 11 four star guys out of the portal, at worst we will be in the top 20 in recruiting and hopefully top 15 and still maybe an outside shot at the top 10? The 2025 recruiting class is off to one of the fastest starts in Auburn history. So I still hope.

We said that about basketball also, several years ago. I will agree, coaching on the offensive side of the ball, seems to be lacking, along with talent. But to say Freeze will never win because of this season, is a-little like worshiping Disney’s Eeyore as your God. Way too early to tell.
