  1. I thought our fan base was hard on Bo. Gus did Bo no favors and the OL recruiting forced him into some tough spots. Harsin made matters worse just being an all around abrasive ass. Happy for Bo that he ended up playing his last two years for a legit HC. congrats Bo ! War Eagle !
  2. Everyone gets disappointed to pissed when you lose, but some keyboard warriors can have a very sharp tongue. I wish Holloway had stayed and was puzzled by him leaving. I would really like to know what the real reason or reasons for his departure were. I think his size limited his impact, but who knows what his sophomore year would have been like ? I thought his lack of size helped us not have a one and done McDonalds AA, but boy was I wrong. I wish him well. He seemed like a real good kid.
  3. All the teams beating us are not making excuses for their losses. You do what is necessary recruiting, lifting, training, etc to give out the ass whippings or you take the ass whippings. We need to stop putting lipstick on a pig.
  4. I was hoping Aden would hang with us and develop. Hate to see him go and wish him well.
  5. I think as much as tickets, motel, food, gas, etc cost fans, asking us to pony up more money for NIL contributions will be short lived unless we are consistently winning championships. Auburn has CONSISTENTLY shown fans will support our teams, especially when producing. How many times have we heard we have an open check book, going for the best candidates , etc only to see an underwhelming , safe or lazy hire ? Pearl is by far the best hire we have made in years and the NCAA issues helped JJ seal the deal in my opinion. Look what he has done. We need new leadership with the vision and commitment to hire the best. Instead of swinging for the fences current leadership talks big and swings for the transformers. Hire more coaches like Pearl, the results will come and it will be easier to get fans to contribute to NIL. Until then, there is not a lot more blood left to give.
  6. I agree with the OP. 1) First I’ll say our fan base is one of the most loyal in college. It’s part of what makes Auburn unique and also why we get abused by poor leadership. I grew up in AL and after Auburn I lived in FL twice, LA, TX (Dallas/Houston) and now NC. I’ve yet to meet a fan base that rivals ours. I’ve heard So Car is much like us and TAM has great people but are not on our level loyalty wise. 2) Fan Base Problem - While we are loyal we have far too many in our base OK with 8 & 5 FB seasons and similar results in other sports. I love all my Auburn brothers & sisters but the ones always talking about being “realistic” and that make excuses for mediocrity drive me bat s*** crazy. FSU & Miami were once homecoming opponents. Expectations can be achieved but have to start somewhere and requires a major commitment. We are our own worse enemy. Bama, LSU, GA and FL expect to consistently compete for championships and will NOT live with what we’ve had. Hell, even Ole Miss is demanding more and trying to do something about it while we are circling the drain. 3) Leadership- Cole Cublic said our BOT would rather have 8&5 seasons and be able to walk the sidelines than stay in their box seats and win NCs. I understand wanting to have a say in some things when giving millions of dollars but their money is not worth the cost in results on the field, court, track, in the pool, etc. When Lowder was around he did have too much power but I never doubted he was committed to winning. Did not like all of his hires but can’t see him sitting on his hands allowing this level of mediocrity. Once Lowder was ousted these other BOT members got their opp to “lead” and they have consistently failed and miserably. We need new blood and we can be just as mediocre without their millions and egos. Current leadership takes advantage of our loyalty continuously making bad decisions and expecting the fan base to suck it up and take it. At some point if they don’t make better decisions and do what is in Auburn’s best interest, eventually there are going to be plenty of empty seats. Sent from my iPhone
  7. Slept on it and still pissed. Yale put it to us and refused to lose. Congrats to them. It’s easy to vent and blame certain players and/or Pearl. These guys and Pearl are the ones that put in endless hours to give us the fun season we enjoyed. There is enough blame to go around the team and staff. Bruce and the team showed class accepting responsibility, giving Yale props and not making excuses. In the age of NOT accepting accountability THANK YOU Bruce & team. Please lay off Chad. He made a mistake but that level of intensity and fire is what makes him the player he is. Without him we probably don’t win the SECT and certainly would not have the record we enjoyed this year. On to the portal ! War Damn Eagle ! Thanks Bruce & Team
  8. Very frustrating. Solid year ending with an embarrassing loss. Congrats to Yale. They were scrappy, more poised and out hustled us. We had many chances to win and could not deliver. Yale made the plays and good luck to them in the next round.
  9. I did not imply anything so don’t be offended. I am just stating my opinion. You did NOT say anything about jump man being on jerseys. I was speculating on what might happen and I would be pissed to have a jump man logo on our FB jerseys like UM & FL if that is part of the negotiations. Again, speculation only here since NOTHING has been said. I understand Nike’s impact on BB and that is the ONLY reason I would want it. If it means we keep Bruce and knock down multiple BB NCs because of moving to Nike it would be worth it. Sorry to disappoint but I disagree with Nike’s pro China/anti USA stance and the politics they have brought to sports which was once a unifier. You can support your causes without virtue signaling. War Eagle to all !
  10. Michael Jordan (I like him) is obviously one of the greatest players of all time but I don’t want another school hero’s silhouette on any AUBURN apparel. Bo Jackson ? Yes ! Can Newton? Maybe ? Charles Barkley ? Yes for basketball. Jordan ? No way in hell. We have a brand to protect. Every time I see Jordan’s image on FL & Michigan FB jerseys I just think ….wow …..they sold out. Stay true to our Auburn brand and our images.
  11. Bruce has done so much for Auburn. If he wants another job at a school that puts him in a better position to win NCs I wish him well except when he plays us, if it happens. I could NOT be bitter with Bruce, but it would suck. That said , Bruce stated multiple times he wants Auburn to be his legacy. I’m not buying Bruce is looking to leave.
  12. I prefer we stay with UA. They have had some hard times financially, but have been good partners. It speaks highly of UA innovation to see how they pushed giant Nike to up their game several years back. Think about that given all the years Nike has been in biz. UA has cut their quality specs for some retail clothing, but not what the athletes get. UA leadership is pro USA which I personally appreciate. Nike obviously has many good products but their relationship with China and taking political stances like Disney has grown more than old. Stick to sports and support your own country first. The one thing that would change my mind is obviously the deal amount. Notre Dame has a much sweeter deal than us last time. ND has not been world beaters in years so the delta between their last deal and ours was too much in my mind. Given all the SEC teams Nike has and the fact we have been a midtier SEC for 10 years (thanks Gus/Harsin) they don’t need us. I just don’t see a lot of motivation for Nike to give us a stellar deal. Stay clear of Adidas War Eagle
  13. Did he leave Auburn ? If so, what happened? I hope what I read was a misprint.
  14. When Freeze was hired I considered him producing 1 win more than Gus per year and another JABA hire our BOT could control. I just think about Cole Cublic saying our BOT would rather go 8&5 and get to roam the sidelines than stay in their box seats and compete for NCs. My HOPE is Freeze has evolved and will continue to evolve as a HC. I hate using Saban as an example but he went outside his comfort zone several times and especially on O to develop his craft. Freeze’s recruiting has been stellar and offers hope. I just hope our blind squirrel leadership found a nut by mistake. I have NOTHING against Freeze and he has done his penance. I hope he ends up with multiple NCs and shocks the CFB world. WDE !
  15. I love the home court streak and all of us take pride in that. However, we just seem to struggle or suck on the road. We came out throwing bricks and then looked like we were just going through the motions to get the game over with. I saw no sense of urgency or grit. If we beat USCe and KY this FL game will look different but I can see us losing both of these games and limping into the SEC tournament. Without some major adjustments we will get bounced early.
