  1. Alot of Auburn fans quote that piece like they know of those teams deeper than the seed line. I don't know how good Charleston or Grand Canyon was, but I do know there's teams better (and worse) than their seed line. You can't discredit a F4 run, especially just based on seeding of the competition. This was the tournament where seeding was as criticized as any since I've been following CBB. "The teams that are winning it all" There's one team that's winning it all. That team is superior to everyone else by a country mile. A blue blood that has the best coach in the sport and has had at worst a top 10 roster has won it two years consecutively. The year before that, it was one of the most blue blood final fours you could draw up, and blue blood Kansas played blue blood UNC with two rosters loaded with top tier talent. What trend are you taking away from this other than blue bloods arereally good at college basketball? I wouldn't say that's particularly new. Again no offense, but the post is a series of tropes and surface level takes. Maybe Alabama, who runs one of the most NBA-adjacent schemes in CBB, will get caught up, even though they've had a top tier offense basically every year for a half decade, but I wouldn't bet on it until I see an adjustment. BTW, D'Antoni's Houston teams were incredible and played in the West at the same time as the most talented roster ever did. Suns got booted out of the offs by peak Spurs 3 times out of their 4 season stretch of incredible success. I don't know how much else needs to be said other than that
  2. They have a GORGEOUS jersey, I can't lie. Don't know how much I love Michigan's fanbase sometimes, but their gear always look quality. Can't wait to see how Tre looks like as a full time guy. HIs turnover rate could improve, but there's a lot of metrics I've heard of that graded him as one of the better backup PGs, so hopefully that stuff can expand as a starter
  3. Eh, obviously I disagree. I don't see why you'd put that put in quotations; you can watch the guard performance he's had at Bama since taking over. And no offense, but if that was all Alabama did, they wouldn't be arguably the best program in this conference since the guy has got there. You definitely can't go to a Final 4 just jacking threes and not playing defense. To avoid repeating myself too much; Bama should help him operate better in transition, simplify his reads, and allow him to play off the ball/play as a scoring guard. He's a project piece, but still obviously a ton of potential
  4. Still have no idea why you’re chirping to me about this
  5. At the end of the day, as long as we don’t continue the trend of something bad happening with a high level guard recruit, I think we’ll both be better off. Pearl realized that trying to make a 18 year old combo guard into your primary PG was brain dead, and Aden goes to a stellar guard developer. Hopefully our guy has learned his lesson for more than just one cycle
  6. Don't know if Bama is the best place to get the mentality part of basketball right, but I do hope there's some maturation (as I would hope for most freshmen btw). Other than rumors that've already been laid out, the on-court confidence/body language definitely needs to be better
  7. I think we also see some resolution on the Tre front with this news. UM wanted at least one of the two and now he's off the board.
  8. I'd love to read the entire piece rather than an obvious "this is gonna piss Auburn fans off and get me some engagement" snippet, but this is a pretty nuts quote lol. I'd love for him to expound on what he means by a different direction. He did go from bench player to starter after the first couple games...maybe that? We ran him off ball more once we got to SEC play and he didn't show the ability to be a real point guard. Could've been that. I don't intend on joining Alabama boards to get the scoops, but I'm interested to see what was promised to the kid in terms of how they'll use him.
  9. I’m glad that someone is able to read my posts and leave emotion at the door lol. Dudes hear Hokanson or whoever allude to Aden freezing out Pearl and are ready to wish the kid the worst with their perception that he’s spitting on Pearl. It’s just incredible really Aden did the right thing for Aden. The coaching staff essentially pushed one of him or Tre out and the program that just developed arguably the best point guard in CBB gave him an offer. If you read this and completely took away who that program was, why would you NOT commit there?
  10. @bigbird You’re entirely free to do whatever feels right in your heart to do. I won’t judge you either way 🫡
  11. Feels very validating as far as our original evaluation that Oats wanted the kid. Definitely think there's a TON of talent there and I hope he ends up being a star
  12. Desperation will turn those red flags green real quick Apparently IU had $5m in NIL to work with, per Jeff Goodman
  13. Absolutely nauseating to complain about having to pay a guy that was evaluated as a a mid second round talent (two seasons in a row) to come back and potentially risk everything, by the way. Ask every donor to the NIL collective and whichever shadow people that probably also help bankroll the thing if they would’ve collectively paid a million to keep Cooper and add him to the Jabari + Kessler. I guarantee the money wouldn’t have mattered to any of them
  14. Ballo from Arizona got floated as having that number a couple days ago. Broome is better than him, but I imagine Indiana probably has some better basketball coffers than us. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the figure he was seeking
  15. With how little they seemed to be pushing for some pretty big name bigs, you had to have the feeling that they either felt good about Broome or were willing to go all in regardless. It would be really nice to have a third big they could develop to take the mantle next next year, but we’ll see…
  16. Yep, every time someone goes undrafted, it’s because a lack of collegiate development. Austin Reaves, one of the best players in the Big 12, literally First Team, can’t have any of his development be sourced to Oklahoma because he went undrafted. Great post
  17. I would think of it as very shortsighted, no offense, to only think of this as being around money. They’ve produced multiple NBA guards recently (one just outperformed Stephen Curry in a play-in game yesterday) and had arguably the best point guard in college last year. Recruits are capable of factoring in more than NIL, in the NIL era
  18. The best thing Alabama offers him to me (other than the obvious high level guard play they've had in general) is that they consistently yield multiple ball handlers. Think they just got a transfer guard that was a #1 option on South Florida. He'll be able to be more like how we should've used him (and did try towards the back half of the season); a scoring guard/off-ball guy. By the way, while Bama would be a great spot for him, this is just a visit and one that's pretty close for him to make. It isn't necessarily a sign that he's going to auto-commit to them lol. I'll be interested to see if any of the high-level Carolina squads from last year give him a whisper
  19. As for this thread Dusty May developed a few stud ball handlers recently, I'm interested to see how Tre looks as "the guy" for him
  20. EXACTLY! I don't know why this guy is gaslighting me like you can't go to the Holloway thread and see the posts lol. I'm not saying even the majority of Auburn fans deserve it, but it's dishonest to pretend like some Auburn fans didn't say don't let the door hit you on the way out lol.
  21. It's ridiculous to want a guy that's one of your 10-15 best recruits ever out after his freshman season. Whatever you get after that is what you deserve.
