  1. Just looked at their last few series and looks like Auburn might face Freshman Jacob Kmatz tomorrow. 8-2 with a 4.19 ERA https://osubeavers.com/sports/baseball/roster/jacob-kmatz/9084
  2. Eh, doubt it was a promised AB. I think it was as simple as a Left Handed bat versus a Right handed pitcher. I'm agnostic to the choice; I didn't love it but Kason's last AB there was swinging at two balls in the dirt and one in the other batter's box so damned if you do, damned if you don't. The good news is Kason and Brody were on that 2019 team so can rally the troops for that deciding game 3. I'm really looking forward to it. Much like basketball, Auburn is beginning to regularly play the "blue-bloods" of the sport. Let's knock off a 3-time National Champion program tomorrow and go compete for one of our own!
  3. Sure, had some weak at-bats in the latter innings, but overall just got beat by the best arms they can throw at us tonight. It took 3 to beat UNC in 2019, let's run Barnett out there and punch a ticket tomorrow.
  4. This was a well-played, well-managed game in the face of a hostile crowd and an inconsistent zone (for both sides). Butch and Huddy managed the bullpen perfectly, keeping lefties in against that OSU lefty-dominated lineup. Nate Larue learned the umpires's zone behind the plate for the last few innings and framed some really crucial strike 2's and 3's. All bullpen arms should be available for a Monday game, and the ace is due up next on the mound tomorrow night for us. Like our chances a whole lot!
  5. Ms. Boudreaux is so sweet! If you ever get a chance to speak with her, do it. A fantastic Auburn lady.
  6. Will resume play at 2pm tomorrow afternoon. Auburn will have a 9-run lead and be 11 outs from its 3rd Super Regional in 4 years. Butch Thompson is the most underrated coach on Auburn's campus. It's easy for fans of a football school to take a "national championship or bust" mentality toward success, but the baseball postseason format is truly a grind. For CBT to take a program that had been stuck in the mud since the late 90s and win 3 regional championships in 4 years, including a Super Regional Championship and a CWS berth, in the age of LSU/MSU/Arky/Ole Miss all performing at a high level is nothing short of remarkable. And this is all being done with AU baseball facilities being middle of the road in the conference at best. I type all that to put perspective on whenever this Cinderella journey does end, whether it be in Supers or Omaha, I hope the casual Auburn fan can truly comprehend the job CBT has done for our baseball program.
  7. 6-4 to B9. I have to head out, so someone bring home the last 3 outs! WDE!
  8. Groundout ends the inning. 6-4 Auburn to the 9th
  9. F9 ends the inning. 6-3 Auburn to the B8. Lets put up a 0.
  10. Sonny splits two infielders. Rambo scores. 6-3 AU
  11. LETS GO. Single dumped into shallow right. On the corners, 2 outs...5-3 AU
  12. Hard groundout to 1st for the second out. Runner on 3rd. Top of order back up. One hit, please
  13. LSU re-gifts Auburn the 0-2 HBP. Runner on first, no out.
  14. Popout almost to no-mans land in shallow LCF ends the damage. 4-3 Auburn to the 8th.
  15. Another pitching change...Blake Burkhalter coming on.
  16. 3-2 breaking ball for called strike 3. 1 out.
  17. RBI single...on an 0-2 pitch....That is the third hit I've seen LSU have in 2 days on an 0-2 count...inexcusable..4-3 AU. LSU on 1st and 2nd, no out
  18. Pitching change...Runners on 1st and 2nd for LSU with nobody out and Auburn's lead down to 2.. Could almost feel this coming when Auburn left bases loaded with one out. Skipper in to try and put out the fire...
