If announced on Friday it would give Friday (most CFB fans/croots could not care less about soccer), Saturday (the biggest CFB weekend of the season wiith the most eyes), and then Sunday - Signing day. Wasting this Saturday seems like bad strategy. Every decision made needs to be about what is best for salvaging this class and setting up for the transfer portal.

Keeping him on staff with a promotion is plenty of love. Assistant OC/RB Corch is a nice reward for how he's helped. We could get real frisky and give him AHC but I'm not sure a new HC would want that.

I've been reading up a little on Walters. He has done great this year but was pretty meh at Mizzou.

I am very interested in the DC hire. I see Muschamps name thrown out there but AU fans have a tendency to just throw out names of coaches who have been associated with in the past. Is the modern game something Muschamp can still defend? Who are some other DCs that could fit the bill?

That's the level of program he needs to prove himself at before he should be taken seriously as a P5 candidate.

The only thing I've seen that he's been rumored to have said is AU is the right job if you have have the support of about 5 key people. There are no lies in that statement. Maybe there's something else out there I haven't seen.

I'd rather hire someone who is qualified to be a head coach. Carnell is one of my favorite AU players of all time, but he is not qualified to be a P5 Head Coach.

He certainly deserves an interview from the next HC. I don't put much value in our coaches being former players, no reason to box ourselves in or oversell a coaches value just because he is associated with the University.

He has a mediocre QB yet has the #4 Scoring Offense and #2 Total Offense in the SEC. He's completely rebranded his offense around his RBs and rushed for more yardage than he's thrown for. Last year he had the #4 Scoring Offense and #1 Total Offense in the SEC, building his offense around the strength of his QB and WRs. He's doing this with Ole Miss talent. Quibble all you like about "best" but he's cream of the crop.
